Do you prefer otome game with gameplay element or just text reading element only?

It depends on what kind of game play element and whether it fits the story. As long as it's not too difficult and tedious, it can be fun.

I would rather a VN with no minigames, but if it's say something like an RPG, life, sim, or stats raiser that happens to be an otome as well, I wouldn't mind that either. Though, I feel like it would be hard for some games to balance between romance and gameplay...

I like relaxing and reading visual novels.
I'm fine with some gameplay elements, but if they are too complicated, or conversely, too repetitive, I start to feel stressed.
I also enjoy games that focus mainly on gameplay but have romantic elements. However, I think the ideal balance is when the game and the novel aspects are clearly defined, and neither one gets in the way of progressing through the other. In that case, I can enjoy both equally well.

I prefer the visual novel format. I'm not very good at mini-games; if I start one just for a quick break but end up spending hours on it without ever clearing it, I lose my motivation, and the game just grinds to a halt 😥

I prefer the pure visual novel format since its reliable. As for having gameplay elements, it depends. I enjoy light gameplay element like the interactive text or the petting games in KLAP or Moujuutsukai to Oujisama (these are super fun and the hot voices are the best). I am not the fan of minigames since they are a hit or miss for me. Oftentimes they are kinda a slog to go through.

I wish there were otome games with more RPG or stat raising but the RPG system needs to be well balanced and fun.

In the end, I play otome games for the romance and story so as long as that shines then any gameplay element is fine with me.

I enjoy both. There aren't that many otome games to begin with, so I end up playing pretty much all kinds, but I'd love to see an otome game with gameplay more like Genshin Impact someday.
