I love it when the MC has a set personality, personally. It gives the game a lot more charm and liveliness to it. Teuta is certainly memorable to me for sure! I was rooting for her in all of the routes (but especially Shu's), her determination was really endearing.
I could see how it could be hard to balance the personality of the MC and the autonomy of player choice when progressing through the story,.
It is not an otome game, but a piece of media that I think balances this well is an interactive fiction novel called "Fallen Hero." The protagonist is snarky and sarcastic, but readers can justify the MC's behavior by choosing if the MC is a softie with a prickly shell or just genuinely a jerk.
