    Nothing wrong with reading Shounen Jump.
    It's just Shounen jump is more business focused in the past few yearsand if your manga doesn't sell a certain quota or getting ratings it will be kicked off even if its popular. Despite the fact that most readers don't even vote but will buy shounen jump for that specific manga...
    Self published works are also pretty good too... It's somewhat of a stepping stone for those who want the climb the ladder to getting serialized in an official comic magazine...

    That is a tough question... Do I read mainstream manga?
    No not really...
    Do I read one-shots and short series from lesser known comics and magazines like Gan Gan Joker, Megastore, and self published works? Yes... I think in this category I've read thousands if not tens of thousands... In my native language and in english translations...
