I watched first season regularly but I did not start watching second season at all since I did not receive such impression unlike other similar animes like
Ghost Hunt, Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro
 
I'd say the first season was good-average for mostly mindless entertainment, but the charm wore off for me in the second season.

I Just noticed there is a bit of an interesting contrast with anime shows, which normally have everything turn out waaay too good (even in Attack On Titan the main cast survives just about everything) and then some of the fiction I read online where things often get much more dark, and in several it completely catches you off guard when they kill off some main cast. For the different reasons I crave both!

Well one of them is Kingdom and I must say this is one of the best animes for me this whole year
and yes here characters die for real but they somehow show less bloody scenes unlike in manga
 
Hmm I was meaning more just straight up writing than manga. Maybe because the writing is American, and perhaps it is more acceptable among the younger writers there/here to be a bit more ruthless with their characters? One of my favourite characters bit the dust in a story I'm reading... it only took a second. :(

Use the MENTION tags, and put in the user's user number. You have to be careful what name you use though, since if the name between your tags is another username, that takes precedence (and doesn't tell you). I often leave some punctuation in so that it is less likely to alert the wrong person.
 
Probably he used Web Link to your profile and edited text so it shows as it is.

Edit: Ah yes MENTION="profile number"
 
I might sometime, but I really don't want to start a really long anime series like that.
