+20% attack for tier VII fighters (Upgraded T7), +30% attack for tier VI fighters (Upgraded T6, stock T7), +40% with tier V fighters (stock T6 carrier) with Dogfight (who picks that when there is torpedo acceleration?)...

The 20% bonus for both US and JPN tier VII fighters would bring their firepower level to almost on par with the F4U-4 and the additional 10% from first slot mod (aircraft guns) should slightly surpass an unmodded Saipan...A full fighter spec Tier VII Ranger will have its (upgraded) fighters' performance be nearly comparable to the F4U-4 in a straight fight, the Hiryu falls short in survivability. Alas, who plays full fighter spec?

Can quantity prevail over quality? A battle between fighters with comparable firepower will be decided by survivability...and the F4U-4 has plenty of it, but with only 3 planes a squad (4 with Air Superiority, consider that it has a real possibility to be so as a very experienced commander can be immediately assigned to the Saipan), how is it going to turn out? In a straight fight, that is. I think that the F4U-4 can kite the other fighters and chase down bombers with ease at that tier with 178 knots, and the bombers will have a hard time shaking them off with all the survivability the F4U-4 have.

...now one problem remain: Does the Saipan get the third upgrade slot for combat performance?

I'll give it some thought since I did see one of the top EU player Supertesting in a real match. Basically He had 4 planes so I guess he got a 15 points captain for Air Superiority captain perk, and my God it completely rekted the Ranger Air Supremacy build on our team, his fighter got melted like no tomorrow and he died to the Saipan's first snipe...

If you only play CV then I suppose you should go with IJN since you already have Hiryuu and know IJN layout/engagement better than USN, also in my opinion Hakuryuu in the right hand is more annoying than Midway.

[EDIT] Oh also, we normally play around 14:00-23:00 BST depending on when Check is around

My best CV game to date: Kraken, 3x Devastating Strike, First Blood, High Caliber and Confederate. 1974 base EXP, 142k damage caused. Hell yes I love CV sometimes xD If there wasn't a Cleveland escorting the BB earlier in the game they could have melted a lot sooner as well. Also Ranger came to a complete halt when she saw both my TB was asking for me to kill her.

This NoCal accuracy buff made her one of my favorite BB there is, superior AA, awesome accuracy, and that bow armor is insane, I took no damage that game, 0 >_> Shit is broken.

Actually IJN CV is doing quite well recently apparently, thought USN not so much. I just got myself a Shoukaku and Hakuryuu recently with the IJN sale, but I need to earn some more money for upgrading first :D But damn CV lose too much money.

2 DM and 1 Baltimore Taskforce gank me when I was escorting Yamato, 2 salvos later, 1 dead DM, other DM and Balti tail against me and ran like chickens. Sneak behind island for cover, I found the DM engaging the ships on the other side of the map, 2 salvos later, he died, Balti kept shooting me but he would have died too if time would of allowed it. Shame :P

It makes me realize why I like CMD though...the unpacker's GUI is just confusing.

Only Haruna, Hiei, Myoukou got special voice over as far as I know, Yotarou (Kirishima Bear) also have special voice over but that's only for SEA server at the moment. The rest uses Iona voice over.

It must be because back in my days there were only Japanese battleships available that made me think the Kongo-class was so good.

...or nobody knows what "closing the distance" means anymore...it's NA environment by the way, so that might not apply to EU.

Byouki is such a slog, in any case, that I might as well keep going with US Battleships...
