Every single time someone walking towards me waves. What do I do? Do I know them? Are they waving at me? Should I say something? Do I wave back? Who are they? Are they looking at me or behind me? Should I look behind me, or would that seem awkward?

If I didn't know them I'd just look behind me too see if they meant someone else, don't think its a big deal. And if it was me, then I'd simply wave back and smile.

you know when a professor will ask a question to the class and no one will answer? I have a really bad habit of answering them if they make eye contact with me. I try not to look at them, but i was raised to make eye contact. I give the right answers, but... I can just feel the stares I get from others. "smartass", "teacher's pet"...
