You guys prefer novel or manga?

I like mangas because it's nice to put a face to a name but I prefer novels because they tend to be further in the story than a manga. Also I'm not sure if anyone else has this issue but sometimes I find it tiring to read mangas, a sort of visual fatigue. Especially when I have to scroll. Reading words just feels a lot quicker and easier to me.

Well..it depends actually, somehow i used to like anime but i realised some of them when it comes from manga adaptation, sometimes they're erased some scenes that actually goated..

Basically for me..when i read manga i use my imagination to make it as if it's i watch it instead i read it, but anime.. you just need to relax any watch it..
But i prefer manga anyway lol

I generally prefer manga, but when it comes to adapted works, I usually read the light novel first to get the full story, since a lot tends to get cut when it's turned into a manga. The same logic applies when going from manga to anime, I'll read the manga first.

The upside is exactly as I mentioned, but the downside is that it's easy to end up disappointed when the visual adaptation doesn't live up to my expectations. Honestly, it's often easier to just enjoy a anime or manga if you haven't experienced the original source material beforehand.

I think I prefer novels lately; I like to enjoy the narration and imagine the characters, but if you had asked me 10 years ago I would have said manga.

Join the people who said manga, I just like to be visually stimulated

I prefer manga over the novel. I love seeing the expressions of the characters and what the world around them actually looks like. Unless I really like the manga and was left on a cliffhanger, I might read the novel just so it stops bugging me.

I prefer manga because it's easier to read; there have even been times when I've ended up reading the entire series in one go. That's not to say I dislike novels, though. Since it's easy to find good stopping points in novels, I enjoy reading them bit by bit whenever I have a spare moment.that does mean it takes me quite a long time to finish one.

It depends on which one is the original source. If a story has multiple versions, I generally prefer the original over the adaptation. I feel like it's a way of respecting the original author and experiencing the work as it was originally intended.

And I don't mean this only in the context of anime or manga. I feel the same way with adaptations from other mediums too. No matter how good an adaptation is, it can never convey 100% of the original creator's ideas, intentions, atmosphere, or nuances.

This is especially true for literature. There are plenty of light novels that have manga adaptations, and while the manga version can be much easier and more enjoyable to read, I often feel like something is missing emotionally. The original novel can spend more time inside the characters' thoughts, describe subtle emotions and atmosphere in ways that visual adaptations simply can't fully reproduce.

So if the novel is the original, I'll choose the novel. If the manga is the original, I'll choose the manga. Basically, I'm an "original source first" kind of person.

If the source material is a novel, then the novel, of course. Great visuals are always cool, but the story itself is better conveyed through the written word.

Novel. I love it when a story switches between a couple characters' POVs.
Getting into their heads that way makes it feel way more layered.

I love Manhwa now. I used to read Manga a lot but I love Manhwa gives color and more expressive. It would take a lot of immersing workload but I feel color stands out to me. For novel, you need imagination to read. It takes a lot of focus and notice the lines. I think people who read novel are generally respecting in my thoughts. I cannot do same things like them. I always love art, and good story from manhwa. Even today, I went go back to Manga but it kinda make me feel not great with black and white. I appreciate every author's creations but in my thoughts Manhwa is popular in my brain.

I prefer novels because they're more detailed and leave more room for imagination. I often find myself moved to tears by the subtle descriptions when I'm reading

I like both, each has its own strengths. For novels, I prefer audiobooks,I listen to them while doing other things and let my imagination run wild. I also read comics, but if a comic is adapted from a novel, I'd lean more toward the novel. If the original work is a comic, then I'll read the comic, provided that I know when it's going to end. The update schedule is just too long; novels can update a chapter a day, while comics are weekly or even monthly.
