You guys prefer novel or manga?

Novels can fully express a worldview and character psychology; their length and amount of text allow for a complete story.

Comics are suitable for short, intensive reading; pictures are easier to understand than words, but their depth of expression and artistic conception are quite limited.

I don't have much time now, but I enjoy reading comics so I can quickly catch up on what's happening.

I'm more into manga than novels, but it's a love-hate relationship. The downside of manga is that it takes ages to produce, and many mangaka leave their work unfinished for all sorts of reasons - deteriorating health, lack of motivation, writer's block, conflicts with publishers, death... and that's not even mentioning the long hiatuses.

I envy novel readers because novel volumes are usually released more quickly, and most books provide some sort of conclusion. You can start reading a manga in elementary school, continue through middle school and high school, graduate from college or university, get a job, get married, have a kid... and the manga still isn't even close to ending—if it's lucky enough not to have been abandoned halfway through.

Because of that, I don't start unfinished series anymore.:stilleathead:

Don't think I've read both the novel and manga of the same work before - each format has their good points and if it's in a language that I can understand, I wouldn't mind either :3 and I agree with @藍色水珠 !

Sometimes the novel does a great job at the storytelling but may be limited when adapted to manga.

Ooh, it stings to know that some series has yet to be finished (Garasu no Kamen) but yeah, some of CLAMP's stuff that I liked - they dropped it ;w; @haiane

While I read both, I mostly read novels since I have enough imagination to imagine scenes in my head and to get enough inspiration to get better at writing. Also, because I prefer reading standalones and complete series and novels are a lot likely to get completed than manga (unless something happened in the writer's life). And I prefer to read offline with local files and ebook files are very small so it's a lot easier to hoard them than manga.

Though, if we're specifically talking about light novels, their manga or webtoon adaptions are a lot more likely to get localized since there's less text to translate.
 
I typically prefer more manga because it's easier to digest most of the time, although novels are awesome as they can feel deeper and more detailed(*'▽'*)

I prefer novels more cuz I love how much deeper they go into a character's head. You get to see all characters internal thoughts and motivations, and honestly, letting your own imagination build the world and character designs is half the fun. Plus, the world-building in books usually hits way harder.

I prefer manga, but if I like the plot and universe a lot, I would definitely read novel too
 
I tend to prefer novels. With manga, it depends too much on the art style, and each chapter has relatively little content. I'm always eager to get through the story quickly, so I read fast — but reading manga too fast makes me dizzy, haha.
 
Definitely manga because I like looking at pretty pictures lol. While its true that novels can be more detailed and have better world building and can clearly convey characters thoughts, a good manga can also do the same through their drawings, thats literally why "show dont tell" exists!! It can be one of the most powerful tools a manga can have and its way more meaningful to show us a characters thoughts through their actions and expressions instead of blocks of text spelling everything out!

I love both, but I read manga more often.
One of the best things about manga is that you can pick up so much information from the artwork, especially the characters' facial expressions and emotions. It lets me get completely immersed in the story almost immediately.

Romance-wise, I prefer manga. I love novels, though, and I think both are of equal value to me. I can read a lower-quality manga more easily than I can read a low-quality novel, but ultimately I don't think every mangaka could be a good novelist or every novelist a good mangaka.

Ultimately, I would say novels have touched me deeper (ORV...), especially classics like The Stranger, but I've read so many amazing manga it's hard to pick a favourite!

I read both, but probably prefer manga a little more because there is something to look at. Sometimes I also simply don't have the attention span to read only words, whereas manga is much easier to read through really quickly
 
I enjoy reading manga more than novels. The artwork makes the characters feel more expressive, and the story moves at a faster pace. Since I can read it even when I only have a few minutes, I usually choose manga.
 
I prefer manga over novels because it's easier to read and I love the artwork, but I don't mind reading novels if I like the story.
