xxxholic anime or manga?

Not sure what forum it goes under but anyway, what do you think is better: the xxxholic anime or the xxxholic manga?

The manga goes by default if you want the complete story. In the anime there is no appearance of the characters from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles and they play a major role in the story. And of course, I also recommend you Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, the manga.
