Answered XDCC Not Working Anymore?

Hii!

I have been using koe.anime-sharing.com's XDCC using IRC for about a year and it has never let me down!

Until recently, I have tried downloading music from the XDCC, parsed the message to send to the bot (/msg AS|Sena xdcc send #XXXX )

After sending the message to Sena, I get this:

AS|Sena disconnected from the server.

Is the XDCC down? I've been using it recently and haven't seen any messages about it being down.
Am i missing something?

We are in the process of upgrading our XDCC servers.

This involves transferring files, making backups, checking file integrity and taking other steps needed to ensure a smooth transition.

What does this mean to you? Our newer releases may be currently unavailable on the XDCC bots, and only after we’re done with the upgrade process will they be added.

Anything released in the meantime will of course be available through other channels (torrents and DDL) as usual.

Would it be possible for a message redirecting users to the that site announcement to pop up when someone tries to communicate with Sena? Or maybe changing the channel's topic to indicate or redirect to message that there is ongoing maintenance

A few simple lines of scripting could send a notice to someone doing a search (by typing @find or !find) informing them that Sena is down, but as the interaction is the trigger, this is only doable if this happens on the channel. If a would-be downloader attempts to interact with Sena entirely in private, there's no way for us to send automatic (or indeed even manual) alerts as we have no way of knowing whether any interaction happens at all.

Changing the channel topic would be the simplest solution, as anyone on the channel can point to it whenever someone asks about Sena. It's just that nobody has ever bothered to add a few sentences to it, including myself, as I use a GUI-less client (Irssi) and accidentally messing up the elaborately-formatted channel topic would make it a hassle to fix. We have no excuse, however, especially as the move/upgrade has taken more time than we estimated.

A short announcement linking to the blog post Checkmate quoted above will be added to the channel topic soon®.

At the very least, such a message would be of help to those asking for the whereabouts of Sena in the channel.

It would also be more informative than the various rumours propagating that propound Sena is being put through, shall we say, rather difficult experiences. Although in all honesty that is somewhat amusing.
