would you like to see your favorite otome game get an anime adaptation?

recently i've been thinking a lot about how much i'd love to see an anime adaptation of virche evermore mostly because i'd love to be able to show it to my friends who don't play or aren't really into visual novels. it got me wondering what everyone else thinks about otome games getting anime adaptations.

what do you guys think about them? is there an otome game you'd love to see get an anime adaptation? and if your favorite otome already has an anime, what do you think of the adaptation?

I don't really have one particular favorite otome game but I do think anime adaptations are fun. Some characters really come alive in motion.

Actually, I don't know if this counts as an anime adaptation but I love it when the characters are animated in the opening movie (like the TMGS games). It's like a mini anime! I guess it's too expensive for most games? I would love to see that more.

Besides Hakuoki, I haven't seen any other anime adaptations of otome games. To be honest I'm not sure I'd like them that much, since they'd either have to focus on one LI or try to include everyone without really giving anyone a proper route. Still, I'd definitely love to see Even If Tempest get one! I think Bustafellows would be pretty nice too.

I think I had a bad impression of Diabolik Lovers that I missed out on enjoying it for a long time because I found the adaptation confusing.

I think Bustafellows could be interesting as an anime! I wouldnt say id be putting my expectations high for any anime adaptation though. Usually the budget isnt that good and the animation is not the best. And VNs are still the best way to experience otome because you actually get choices and choose which LI you wanna be with.

Unfortunately with anime youre most likely gonna be stuck with the poster boy, soo not that interested tbh

Honestly I don't think I've ever enjoyed an anime adaptation of an otome game. I think Hakuoki was alright but I did watch it like 12 years ago lol.
They usually don't pick a route to stick with and end up trying to adapt every route into one anime. It just ends up convoluted and not being a good representation of the game imo.
I think it's fine if you are already a fan of the otome its based on and want more content, but for people who aren't already familiar with the game it's usually just confusing and not very compelling.
Also the animation usually isn't very good because of budget and time constraints :(

There's actually plenty that i want it to get an anime adaptation, for example shinigami to shoujo, over requiemz even Yoshiwara Higanbana. But i think it's hard to be fully fleshed adapting them, for example like arcana famiglia, amnesia or diabolik lover the plot is kinda jumbled and lack of depth story telling moreover the MC didn't end up with anyone and stay open ending which is i think not good enough. Hakuouki and code realize is good tbh. Honorable mention to dance with the devils despite its singing scene interrupt some scene that making me embarrassed and laugh lol.

100% yes, with one condition: the adaptation must be worked on earnestly.

I discovered some otome games through their anime adaptations, which served as a great introduction before I actually tried them. If I like the anime's plot, I will play the game! However, sometimes studios only adapt it for the game promotion, which results in poor quality.

I absolutely hated how they adapted Starry Sky. I'm glad I play the game first before seeing the anime.

It's just very hard to successfully adapt visual novels or video games in general. My favorite thing being more accessible but also probably horribly condensed and misrepresented is such a double edged sword... I've also seen some recent complaints from others about the anime adaptations attracting an unwanted fujo audience lol

I do have fond memories of the Kiniro no Corda anime but I was rather young when I saw it and I've currently no idea how it compares to the game. Was nice promo though!

I guess open endings do kinda make the most sense since ideally you'd have to buy the game to get actual romance of your fav. But I wonder if there have been any otome adaptations going the Amagami SS route of adapting every character's storyline and endings in order like they're parallel realities? I don't think any I've seen was like that

Anyway not like it'd ever happen but I think something like Danzai no Maria would look very pretty animated...

After the collar x malice movie, I'll pass. Other than that I remember enjoying the norn9 anime adaptation when it came out.
