i enjoy otome more because i feel more immersed to the world inside the game as a woman, the story and characters feel precious to me (including mc). As for BL i feel more like an observer, i like to read BL manga more than playing game or hearing audio cd, for BL i'm only interested in dramatical murder and the summer hikaru died

I'm sorry, my English isn't very good. I've actually loved BL since I was a kid. I think it's mostly because of my friends—a lot of people around me love BL, too. On the other hand, I rarely get into Otome games. The ones I did play were mainly Japanese mobile games like Yume100 and I-Chu. I really love rhythm and idol games, which is why I like that one so much!

Personally, I lean towards BL. The biggest reason for me is the dynamic between the main characters. In BL games, the protagonist has a much better chance of being on an equal footing with the love interests, rather than being the typical fragile, helpless heroine who constantly needs protection.
I love seeing two strong, capable characters who can stand side-by-side, challenge each other, or fight together as equals. It makes the plot progression and the emotional tension so much more engaging and refreshing to watch.

I love both! I was originally a fan of otome games, but thanks to a friend, I've come to love BL as well.

I mainly play otome games. BL I play less often, unless the story is really good. My main focus is still otome games, and I play a pretty wide variety.
I read BL manga now and then, but BL games, Not so much. The only one I've played is Akaya Akashiya Ayakashino.

i've read the manga of akaya akashiya ayakashino for a few chapter and for some reason i dropped it, i dont remember why, now that you've reminded me, i want to read the rest of it bcause i love spirit and summer festival theme. I've discovered AAA through my fav jp singer Akiko Shikataa :)

I prefer BL because it was the first one I discovered and got into, long before I even knew about otome games. That's feels more familiar and comfortable to me 😳😳

I'm very interested in both! I used to be completely devoted to otome games, but these days I often read BL manga. ☺️

I will watch otome anime but mostly I read BL manga, watch BL anime and listen BL drama. I cannot explain the reason clearly, probably BL stories make me "dokimeki"more than Otome stories.

Otome! I've been playing otome games since 2017, so I have a huge attachment to and love for the genre; on the other hand, BL games have never really appealed to me🤔 I think it's because of the countless negative experiences I've had with certain people who consume BL, especially women with a fetishistic attitude who would attack female characters appearing in BL works or stories with heterosexual couples!

Unfortunately, I ended up developing a certain reluctance and even an "aversion" to the genre... But I do occasionally consume BL content (manga, manhwa, and games), but only if my best friend recommends it! It's not something I do often, but it's not non-existent either.

So, given all that, I prefer otome games a thousand times over, and I always will! Especially otome games with yuri routes (I'm a bisexual woman with a strong preference for women, so I never turn down a female route lol).

Both! I encountered BL first, but I think Otome is also excellent. I like both of them because they have charms that each of them doesn't have. 😀

I like otome more than BL. Because most of the BL I come across always have erotic scenes, rather than romance stories.

I guess I am one of the minority - I prefer BL. There is something aetherical in my vision of BL relationships. The feeling of being truly equal to the signifcant other, to be able to have so much in common with them because of that, the versatility, the pinch of forbidden love... It feels like experiencing an option I never actually had. Yes, we all know that BL has little to nothing in common with reality, but it is nice to dream, don't you think? And to be honest - I get twice as much of the voice acting which I am interested in.

I've never played BL games besides Nitro Chiral's, but I feel the ones I've played not only had the eroge aspect but also touched on certain subjects that otome games, even when they're eroge, don't really go to. I do think that's an issue as I wish there was more freaky stuff for women, but I wouldn't say I consume a different type of content depending on if it's otome or BL, as if there were otome games that had the content that the BL games I've played had then I would play them too.
I guess in terms of number I've played more otome games but in terms of the ones whose story and characters I enjoyed the most than it is probably equal. I usually relate more to BL protagonists than otome protagonists too (they usually have more development as I've never played one where the MC is a self-insert), usually I even crush on the MC more than the LIs lol.
