I'm replying on otome games just bc i have more experience with this genre than bl games, even if i like both i think i have a preference for otome games just bc i can ( even if just a bit ) can relate to the mc (heroine) compared to bl games ( since i'm a girl ) but i really like the stories told on both sides been rather interesting and different !! I enjoyed playing slow damage and lucky dog but also adore sidekickBeyond and Starry sky!! Both r valid and kinda the different versions of the same coin
I enjoy both, but I'm more into otome games. I started playing them on my PSP when I was younger, and I've been a fan ever since. As for BL, I got into it through manga and drama CDs later on. 。◕‿◕。
otome is an important genre to me because its essentially an entire genre of stories written by (usually), for, and about women, which is pretty damn cool! and probably because i just like girls more in general.. or something....;; so its otome for me!
i still enjoy bl of course, but if we are talking about same-sex contents, i like yuri/gl more..:"3
Otome, even though I played and finished more BL, when it comes to choosing I prefer reading manga, manhwa or doujinshi if it is BL and when playing a VN, otome.
Otome opened the door for me liking dating sims VN Genre (well not really accurate to include them into dating sims, but i mean VNs where you can pursue the characters romantically), but BLVN tend to make me more invested in them so i choose BL for this
Otome because bishounen and ikemen and shotas and EVEN ojisans have a divine right to be loved and smooched by cute girls + vice versa
BL in general has never caught my interest in all my years of being in online communities except for a few spontaneous ships that I ended up liking naturally without trying to seek it out.
I started with BL and gradually moved to reading otome as well, so now I like them both. It's like food cravings - completely random. Today you want a steak, and tomorrow it can be a strawberry cake, both are delicious
I'm on Team Otome, although I'm just starting out in the world of BL; you could say I'm a complete novice at it. The only BL content I've consumed has been anime adaptations like Sasaki to Miyano and manga like Nakamura lol
Definitely otome. I enjoy a good BL from time to time, but sometimes there's a certain feeling of author putting down women to elevate the uke, or making them mindless fangirls to establish that the main characters are "popular and desirable" that makes me more selective towards this genre
Otome Games!
I love romantic stories between men and women. I enjoy the romantic storylines with the heroine, and I also like to project myself into the characters.
otome. ˙˚ଘo(∗ ❛ั ᵕ ❛ั )੭່˙
mainly as a self-insert enjoyer, it's easier for me to immerse myself in the story (all games, really) if the lead is a heroine. there's very few bl games that i play as a self-inserter than just a spectator which kinda takes some of the fun out of the game for me. ( ❛︵❛。)
i am in agreement that some bl games definitely give out misogynistic vibes that very offputting and will deter me from wanting to play that specific game and any others by said creator. ٩(•̤̀ᵕ•̤́๑) i also seem prefer the sweetness that seems to come from shoujo-ai or yuri games to bl for the same reasons as otome games. ٩(•͈ ꇴ •͈)و ̑̑❀
my preferences also reflect in manga/hwa/hua, webcomics and any other digital story media but really cute love stories will tempt me to read them regardless of pairing types. ⋆ ˚。⋆˚⸜(♡ ॑ᗜ ॑♡)⸝ ˚⋆。˚ ⋆
