When did you start playing otome games?

When i start to read VNs around 10 years old. There was a big gap between any VN game and Otome/BL focused ones. I played some indie otome when i was young, like RE: Alistair, but jumped to most-known Japanese ones around the first year of university.

Large VN's began reading around the age of 16. The first was Hakuouki on a psp emulator on a phone. As I watched the anime, I was so very fired up with reading. I even had to tighten the level of english for this

When I was 11. My first game was on PC. The console games were just starting to come out, so I did not get into them until a while later.

I started playing otome games when I was in high school. I was drawn in by the beautiful artwork at first, and once I started playing, I got completely hooked—it didn't take long before I fell down the otome rabbit hole too.

About when I was 8-10? Unrestricted phone access and I discovered Midnight Cinderella
Wish it was available D:

6th grade I think? Around that time, there were only a handful of otome games officially localized.

"Officially" around 2017 with Cinderella Phenomenon! But I most likely played a bunch before without knowing what the genre is.

I don't really remember the exact age but maybe 8 or 9. and it was my candy love, recommended to me in primary school by a close friend (but I lost contact with her after going middle school sadly) I badly managed the energy system that was used to make actions by wasting it all on a ring accessory that gave me a short christmas themed story so I couldnt progress much. after that I played one or two crappy mobile otome-ish games but they dont even count so skip skip. but at highschool (11th or 12th grade) I emulated the tokimeki memorial girls side game on nds so it was my first serious otome game that I played. (I bet everyone was dying to know these facts about me(!) lol)

I was around 13-14 when I started. I don't remember how I found it but 5 years later I went to Japan to study in college and was living there like 3 years, but due to circumstances I returned to my place of living

Around 11, I tried to use MTL on the original version of Heart no Kuni no Alice. MTL was so bad back then.... was not able to play. A few years later I played the fan patch of Starry Sky. Alice remains one of my faves to this day

omg i was like 11 ??? I remember doing everything to find a apk file of Kamisama Hajimemashita ~Dokidoki Ayakashi Love~ since it was region restricted on the app store

I started after watching an anime adaptation of an otome game in middle school.

9 (Have an older sister who was into Pacthesis and nummyz dating sims at the time), so my otome journey ended up like this

Flash dating sims --> Mobile apps (Shall We Date, Midnight Cinderella etc)/Lemmasoft OELVN otome (Planets, Re:Alistair++, Freak-quency, etc) --> Japanese-made PC Otome (got my first job money and splurged) --> Switch (now)

It was probably middle school; back then, the term "otome game" didn't even exist yet.

When I was 9 years old, I played some android otome games by voltage on playstore, because my sister are using our shared tablet to download it. I like the face of the ml, and started to download all kind of otome game on pc. I don't think I ever finished it though.
