Mine was Alice in the country of hearts after my friend got the manga for her birthday and I wanted to see more Blood. I tried playing it first with a translator and then with just my own skills but that game was wordy

Mystic Messenger, but the first one I played while knowing what otome games were was Amnesia: Memories

Edit: Oops forgot to answer the question. Pretty sure I just found it by looking up popular otome games

My first otome was a mobile game named "Shall we date : WizardessHeart" (if it's considered to fall in this category). At that time I was in high school and I didn't have money to pay game so I searched in the play store to see if otome games was present in it and I was pleased to find a otome with a story that appealed to me so I tried it and I really liked the story and the characters. After that I played other otome games of Solmare corporation game and also otome games of Cybird group. My second otome was Midnight Cinderella and that when I think I confirmed/realized that I liked these type of game.

I was 12 and really into Fire Emblem Awakening, I loved the romantic aspect where you can pair Robin up and was desperate for more games like that. I lead me down a rabbit hole of discovering shoujo anime and manga and eventually otome! My first otome were those flash ones on deviantart by pacthesis! Then eventually I played phone otomes and found amnesia on there! I got amnesia and loved it and well the rest is history!!!

It's so hard to remember my first otome. It was a long time ago, I didn't even know such a genre existed back then. The earliest I can remember is probably RE:Alistair  Of the Japanese otome, it was most likely Amnesia. I remember returning to it some time later and being very surprised that the heroine didn't even have a name

I don't know if this counts, but Persona 3 Portable. I had bought Persona 3 Reload, played a portion, saw that there was a lot of work being done by modders for the forgotten femc and wanted to see what the hype was, so I bought Portable and became obsessed. If that doesn't count, then Bustafellows, cause I already had it on my Steam account somehow when I started looking for otome after finished P3P. I wish there were more otome that had additional gameplay mechanics alongside the VN elements, though.

My first otome game was Ijiwaru My Master. It's a classic for +18. I discovered it when I was about 12 or 13, haha. Back then, there weren't many otome games translated into Spanish, and this was one of the few I found. I was hooked.

I have to admit that Ryuka was always my favorite, and his counterpart, Night Ryuka, is also quite seductive in his own way, even though he's incredibly manipulative.

That's the face of innocence of my Ryuka during the day <3

I found otome walkthroughs on YouTube and decided to play the games myself! The first otome I actually finished was Code: Realize and I was so blown away by the story that I knew I should just dive right into this genre. Thanks to that experience I found 女性向け content. Now I can't go back to other types of media, as I always find news way to enjoy works made by women for women.

It was a few years ago when I saw the anime Amnesia for the first time by coincidence. And a friend of mine told me that there was also a game.

I think Hakuoki was my first otome game. I found it at a game store and was hooked, as I had never known a game that was so exciting!

I think the first one was Yo-Jin-Bo. My friend recommended me a bunch of her favorites.

Starry Sky... It was what we had in English at the time... After that I played Hakuouki (the PSP version) and played online games like My Candy Love and Star Project :frozen: Anyone remember that one? The system was so hard I never finished a single route... But I loved that thing anyway, the mini games were so fun to play :swearveng:

It's a R18 game which is about a married woman's infidelity. It brought me a shock and then started to play more otome games.

it was my candy love and i really don't remember how i found it since it was back in 2012 😅

i don't think its really an otome game, but what got me hooked into otome is interactive story game by Webelinx that was introduced by a local youtuber i know well

i think the title is Love Story : Teenage drama?

i do think its a mediocre game if it was compared to the legends otome in nsp like Cafe Enchante or Collar x Malice, and the romance was too rush for my liking

Mine was either X-note or Re:alistair. After watching KamiNomi, I really wanted to play a dating sim but targeted at female audience with male capture targets instead so I looked it up and the rest was history :geek:

i think mine was re:alistair! i remember watching a playthrough on youtube then downloaded it to try it for myself. i also have very vivid memories of playing alot of old voltage games (dreamy days in west tokyo) and shall we date games, so i feel like it's between these.

the first otome i personally bought and the one that got me properly into them was code:realize though, so i'll always have the biggest soft spot for it

Mine was tenipuri. Was really into the series at the time and was surprised as I was buying the games there was an otome one!

Otometeki Koi Kakumei★Love Revo!!I came across it by chance on the internet and, being impressed by the style of the drawing, I decided to give it a try.

my first otome game was hakuouki on psp as well... it was a long time ago, so i don't really remember how exactly i found it... i do remember i was kinda obsessed with the anime hakuouki at the time  and i just got my psp too... so i must've been searching for games to play on it... and i also remember that i picked it up specifically for okita's route, cause i thought that the anime didn't treat him well... so yeah, i'm still fond of it, but don't remember much...

I clearly remember that I started out with mobile dating simulators, but the first full-fledged otome game for me was Nightshade. I don't remember how I found it, but I remember that in the Chojiro route I got a bad ending, thought there were no other endings, and moved on to the next character  But I think it was definitely a worthy introduction to the genre!
