What will you choose: 2D or 3D graphics in otome?

I'm fine with either 2D or 3D!

The only 3D otome game I've played is Love and Deepspace. However, I'm not a big fan of mobile gacha games, so I quit after only a few hours.

I'd love to see more 3D otome games released on PC and consoles.

I'm also looking forward to Silent Whispers since a PC version is planned, although knowing myself, I might end up quitting that one too😂

I haven't kept up with many recent otome games, but I hope both 2D and 3D otome games continue to grow and evolve💕

I prefer 2D to 3D, too. I'm still not used to 3D yet. I also prefer 2D illustrations because they tend to better showcase the artist's unique style.

I also definitely prefer 2D. 3D otome games personally feel very "uncanny valley" to me, and the LI designs I've seen from those sorts of games tend to be much more homogenized than what is possible from 2D works. Even in 3D RPGs with romance elements it's hard for me to shut off my "this feels off" impulse.

I understand what some people get out of them (animations/more detailed representations of scenes, some sense of realism, etc) but it doesn't really gel with me so I don't seek them out. Who knows though, maybe one will eventually swing around that handles all of my issues, I won't completely write the possibility off.

I prefer 2D as well.
This is just my personal opinion, but 3D still feels a bit unnatural and too artificial, almost like an android or a cyborg.
I like 2D much better!

I really don't like 3D — it looks so fake and unnatural, and there's just no beauty to it at all.

I like both with a preference for 2D. I think the artstyle is very important for both though. I don't enjoy hyper realistic 3D for love interests (imagine like the style of Detroit Become Human)

2D all the way! I couldn't get into love and deepspace because the designs were just so... awkward and boring unfortunately 😭 2D just feels more pretty and detailed, and i feel like they also feel more livelier, but with 3D theres just no life in those dark pools of glowing blue orbs lmaoo

I play 2D games more often, so I naturally prefer them over 3D games.

Hmm... I think 3D games are interesting too, but sometimes the character models can look a little strange, or there might be some funny bugs. I don't really mind, though. I like both styles, but I definitely prefer 2D games. Ꮚ˘ ꈊ ˘ Ꮚ

I also definitely prefer 2D more! I think 2D works best for visual novels where you spend a majority of the time reading and the art is definitely much more detailed compared to 3D. It's like when I play rhythm games and I love everything about the card, but sometimes the 3D model doesn't do it justice and it's pretty bad. I think 3D works best for immersion (if you can customize mc), game involves a lot of cutscenes, and for a realistic approach. I haven't played any 3D otome games so this is what I think based on what I've seen haha.

the only 3d otome i played is love and deepspace so id say 2d lol but i am curious how my fav LIs from 2d otome would look like in 3d

I enjoy both, but ultimately I think I have to go with 2D! I feel like the individual art styles are more pronounced in 2D titles. Ironically the 3D models can sometimes feel dull and flat if it isn't made very well.

I don't mind if it's 2D or 3D. As far as I remember, the only 3D game I played was Love and Deepspace. I guess 3D otome games aren't very popular yet, are they? I'm much more used to seeing 2D.

May be I'm a little old fashioned, but 2d is always preferable. It has more soul. And to hell with ai slop, lol.

I'm with you guys, 2D all day everyday. (っ˘ω˘ς )

I can kinda handle the 3d-ish models of TMGS3 & 4 because there's still a cartoon quality to their models. I grew up with 2d models so I will always prefer that style as it's a comforting sight than ones becoming more realistic can lend to the eerie vibe, unintentionally. 〣( ºΔº )〣

But! I can definitely see the appeal of 3D games such as LADS because there is some BEAUTIFUL models in those games...sigh...but I feel like they're only appealing to me in their cutscenes so the actual gameplay does leave more to be desired for my personal preference. (˶′◡‵˶)

I definitely agree with the feeling of...art and soul when it comes to 2d characters. Maybe it's just my mind, but 3d gen feels like it's lacking the human connection from creation. ¯\╏ ՞ ︿ ՞ ╏/¯

I like 3D but I love 2D so much, it's nostalgic specially for Otome games, for now there's not that many 3D otome and I only played LADS but from what I've seen I miss the unique design some 2D otome have like for example Virche Evermore.

I personally prefer 2D as well. 3D might look more realistic, but it actually makes me feel dizzy — I get motion sickness from it. Plus, I just love the classic anime art style in otome games. There's something about 2D illustrations and sprites that feels more charming and expressive to me. So yeah, team 2D all the way

2D.I can't get into 3D.I really love graphic art and I don't aim for realism in my work.I think 3D is just too boring for me. Maybe I'm just not into it.And I prefer visual novels over other types of gameplay.
