I love mystery and suspense (9RIP, Psychedelica games, 7Scarlet but the last one turned out quite disappointing... Modern day and bright games are fun too, help me relax while playing. My brain cannot keep playing dark games all the time

My English isn't very good, so I use Google Translate.
I prefer Western fantasy and horror/suspense genres, such as The Lucky Wand and 9RIP. The school setting of the female version of Tokimeki Memorial is also good, and a fictional world with monsters like The Sixth Demon Guardian is fantastic.

I really like slice of life, drama, or games that lean more towards "realism". Maybe it's because I like seeing how the relationship between characters evolves organically during so-called "mundane" moments. I don't really find myself reading much stuff that involves fantasy.

I love stories set in other worlds. I'm very moved by the experience of experiencing an impossible worldview.
I'm not good at English so I'm using Google Translate. Sorry if the sentences are strange.

I haven't had many opportunities to explore which genre I like the most (due to my Japanese language level), but in general, I like all kinds of fantasy (and possibly) sci-fi or even supernatural. For example, Ephemeral or Cupid Parasite :3

I love historical or crime settings! Like some of my favourite Otomes are Hakuoki, nightshade, yoshiwara higanbana and birushana. I'm also enjoying Piofiore which I started recently! I prefer dark stories so a lot of modern settings don't usually endear themselves to me as much but sometimes I'll be in the mood for something more light hearted and read them regardless. I've been interested recently in trying out more r18 titles in Otome since my most extensive reading for visual novels are BL games or Bishounen titles with Otome being something I'm slowly getting back into after a few years gap!

I prefer suspense, detective, and adventure games. As long as the story isn't too bad, I feel motivated to keep playing. The biggest advantage of these types of games is that you don't know the true ending until you reach the end, which I find very interesting. For everyday life games, the writing has to keep me engaged, which I think really tests the skills of the game writers; otherwise, it's easy to write them in a way that makes people want to fall asleep.

I love the denpa style! I'm also really into suspense and horror tension.

I'm a big fan of crime suspense, detective and dark fantasy vibes! There's just something about high stakes and a bit of danger that makes the emotional connection feel way more earned.
They are -
Norn9 (Sci-Fi / Fantasy),
NOISE -Voice of Snow (Dark Fantasy), Piofiore no Bansho (Historical Mafia / Crime Drama), Side Kicks! (Police Procedural/Suspense), Bustafellows (Cinematic Mystery/Noir) and
Ozmafia!!(Fairytale Fantasy / Mafia)
I definitely lean toward the Norn9, Sidekicks!, Bustafellows, Piofiore and Ozmafia style.

Horror and mystery! I grew up reading mystery novels when I was younger and transitioned into playing horror games later on, so any otome games that have some hint of horror or mystery is an instant buy for me! Having a goal to work on while romancing LIs is always interesting, because what if the LI is the killer? I want to be kept on my toes and be glued to the edge of my seat as I reach the end!

I like the fantasy genre and the mystery series. However, I feel that the mystery elements in most shoujo games are rather weak. Sometimes, even before the game is completed, I can figure out who the murderer is...
