what makes you want to play a game?

The setting and world is a major for me. It's a lot harder for me to immerse myself in worlds that aren't high fantasy. Besides that, the art is also a major factor (not just the sprites or cgs, this includes music and in some cases, the UI.) ◝(ᵔᵕᵔ)◜

For me it's always the art and the plot that stands out for me! I used to go on VNDB just to check for the latest projects and the cover is the first thing that'd stand out. Everything else from casting and ost is like a later thing.

Definitely the art pulls me in, but the plot helps me stay or move on. I love more story-heavy ones rather than the I guess 'dating' aspect, so like anything with a long common route or things like that. Good music is also a huge bonus.

For me, it's about the characters and immersion. I need to feel like I'm stepping into another world and that my choices actually matter to the people in it. If the art style is beautiful and the music sets the mood, I'll probably give it a shot. But ultimately, if I don't care about the protagonist or the love interests, I won't stick around for the long haul.

I'll play a game because of its interesting story and character designs. While my preferred art style might influence my decision, I'll primarily play it because I'm interested in the story.

The resume or/and the trailer of the game is what make me decide if the game interest me or not. Plus, the art style of the character play also a part to this choice.

For me, it's mostly the story and characters that make me want to play. If the premise sounds interesting and the cast feels like they'll actually have depth or emotional payoff, I'm already hooked. I also really like when the MC feels intentional—either well written or flexible enough that I can project onto them. Art definitely catches my eye first, but I'll stick around for strong writing and good character dynamics more than anything.

To me it would likely depend on either the story premise, setting or characters having some appealing element about them (be it having a voiceactor that stood out in another game or just a profile blurb) since aside from paying closest attention to a game's plot/narrative I'm not really the picky type

Story premise and setting are a main pull for me, good characters as well. They can hold a game with bad gameplay, but it depends a lot.

Art and character design I think. If the art isn't to my taste, more anime like, then I doubt I'd ever touch the game. It might sound bad, but it's just what I prefer. If I can vibe with at least one character design in the game, I'm in!

voice actors and game plot are the first things that make me want to play a game, I guess I'm a person who doesn't really care about the artstyle of a game to a certain extent, but if it's the voice actors then it's a dead end for me whether I'll play a game or not, even if it means the game is literally trash

Seiyuu and graphic? Even the point I focus most is the scenario. A good story is always the most important to me.

For me it's the seiyuu first then the graphics. If neither hit. then I check out the plot. Most times though the games I check out do have the seiyuus I like.

Usually familiar artist style, but i also tend to play vns from same scenario writers. I also really like to try games with voiced MCs, though there aren't many.

OOOO yes the customization aspect of Our life was def amazing! As a self-inserter myself, I played it a couple of times, and felt my heart flutter from a lot of the romance moments.

I personally value otome game's ability to allow to completely immerse in its world. So voice acting, plot, world building are really important to me. Plus I prefer to play on console (switch), so I mostly gravitate towards Japanese otome games. Playing different Japanese otome games makes me feel like I can immerse in various settings and worlds!

I'm not very demanding. As long as it has a good, captivating story and well-developed, consistent characters, I'll want to play it. This applies to all video games in general not only for otome games.

If there is a voice actor I like in the game, I will continue to play even if the plot is not attractive. In the same way, I also care about the painting style of the game.

Graphics and whether the characters fit my type, honestly.
But if a character is really my type, I don't even think I care about the graphics anymore. Or even the story. It could be objectively terrible and I'd still stick around just because I like the character that much. 😭
