What do you think about mini-games in otome?

I actually quite like the mini-games in otome games; they can add a lot of fun, and some even let you interact with characters you can romance, which also helps with character development. But if the mini-games are too simple or tedious, they can make the game less fun. For example, in some life-simulation games, without a guide, it might take me a lifetime to get all the endings, haha.

I like them as long as they dont take too long and are not too hard. But they need to make sense in the story of the game and have a reason for being there.

I don't mind mini-games as long as they don't overstay their welcome. They can be a nice break from reading, but after the first route I usually just wish there was a skip option for repeat playthroughs.

To be honest, I really like them, but only as long as they aren't the main focus of the game. If they're done well and give you a nice little break from reading, I find them really entertaining! Since I'm also the type of person who sometimes needs a short break from reading, as long as they don't make me play mini-games during an important part of the story, it's all good hahaha

I'm not very good at mini games but I absolutely loved ikki's mini game in amnesia later crowd it was so fun !! Toma's one was so difficult though lol

They're okay mostly, also we don't see them often. It highly depends on the game itself. I like Cursed Covenant mini games, for example (which is pretty much just a touch simulator). But if it's puzzles... some are really fucked up xP

Not a big fan of mini-games. Good thing they're easy. i think Love Pretend has something like that, and it was fun enough. Jack Jeanne gives a fresh feel with its rhythm game, but please, i just want to skip it directly and only enjoy the story.

Though they're entertaining enough, i prefer less complexity in the gameplay. i just read otome VNs, and i'm there for the story.

It depends on how it's adapted. For example, TMGS has two short minigames, which I believe are per route, but they're not very repetitive, and you have many other things to worry about, so you don't really notice them. JackJeanne is a perfect example of how adapting minigames into a visual novel needs to be well implemented. They force you to play approximately 15 songs per route, and the stats game is tedious because you really only have to fill in one stat; there's no real complexity, and it should even be skippable. There are also dialogues without voice acting that have little or nothing to do with the main story, and simply trying to complete the routes becomes a real ordeal. Psychedelica BB, while not entirely to my liking, had a minigame that appeared once or twice per route, and that was it. It didn't interrupt the experience for me.

I prefer them when they're optional, I get annoyed when I'm forced to always do them (especially on replays).

I do, however, make an exception when the mini game is affected with the story progression and reflects your choices, I find that fun to see.

it depends on what kind of minigame it is. if it's like jack jeanne's, then i love them! but if it's like genso manege's minigame, then nope...
