What do you think about mini-games in otome?

I feel like there just aren't that many otome games with actual gameplay, so I wish there were more. Not only mini-games, but RPG-style stuff too.
Mini-games are usually fine, but rhythm games don't always work for me.
And yeah, I'd love a skip option sometimes, especially on replays—you just wanna fast-forward stuff you've already seen.

I adore mini games on Otomes! like a nice way to break the monotony of simply reading, and a great way to immerse players in a way. I especially love the rhythm games on Jack Jeanne

I used to think that mini-games were unnecessary. Because it is not a meaningful experience for me. However, I learned that some people enjoy them. If there are people who are happy with them, then they should exist. That said, I would appreciate it if there were an option to skip them for people like me.

I usually don't like them but there was this one minigame where I got so obsessed that I forgot I was playing an otome lol I think it was called dandelion

I don't like it, when i read i like to get immersed in the story and the characters and when there is mini games it just takes me out of the story and stresses me out.

I don't mind them, they can be a nice change of pace ,but I prefer if they are skippable because they get repetitive when replaying or trying another route

I like action games so the mini games are fun and even refreshing in the first few times to me. But afterward it become repetitive, boring and even unbearable sometimes since most of those mini games are really simple (because the main focus is romance not action)

I dont really like adding mini games within the main plot, but as side feature is ok for me!

Some of them are ok, but most of them are just annoying. Too much of change of a pace for me.

I think it depends solely on the game. Some games do it really well where it's not a chore or punishment but something you want to do.

I have definitely experienced games that punish via the mini-games where it's frustrating and route blocking versus something to enhance gameplay.

I enjoy the TMGS series so I definitely enjoy stat raising and their mini-games as it involves the love-interest or interests actively in the scenes or there's a reason like the chocolate making for valentines but there is an option strictly to skip and buy.

I don't like the mini-games that pop up in between games. They interrupt the flow of the conversation and I find them annoying.

I don't mind them when they're simple and fun. I play otome games mainly for the characters and story, so I always appreciate mini-games that feel relaxing instead of frustrating.

I don't like them D: I feel like I'm missing the story and I'm desperate to finish soon

Like the card battles, rhythm games, stat-raising, etc.
Reading non-stop can get a bit boring, especially with long games, so having mini-games definitely makes it less of a chore =)) Usually, they aren't that hard anyway. On the other hand, sometimes I just want to be able to skip them all because I'm hooked on the story =)) But overall, I prefer having them because I can't read for a long time, especially when the story gets a bit dull.
As a project diva lover besides being an otome lover, I was thriving in Jack Jeanne :D
also, the songs in Jack Jeanne are very fun to listen, making the experience even better
like "Ghost Party"
it is very catchy and I often find myself singing the melody fhgsdkjf
I don't know if anyone noticed, but there's this skeleton that falls from the ship and then swims back to the ship in the MV. I always laughed because it looked funny there, and remembered that it was probably Otori's character kdhgfjs

another minigame I loved is that one last minigame with the small colored blobs in LADS about sorting the LIs emotions. I normally get too bored with that sort of minigames, but the blobs were cute enough I would return just to see them again 😂

In VNs, a lot of minigames just feel out of nowhere and unnecessary for me. Unless it's clearly gameplay orientated like TMGS, I don't think minigames mesh well. There's a time and place for everything.

when i was playing the tmgs series and brothers conflict, the mini games were really fun , but it took a while to get used to the controls and memorize them lol especially on an emulator for brothers conflict

I don't dislike minigames (some of them can be really fun), but they can be annoying when I want to complete other routes and they're unskippable.

I feel ok if I can choose to skip them when I meet them second time, but if I have to keep playing them again and again,I feel it's a waste of time.

I'm not really a fan of mini-games in otome.
They tend to interrupt the story flow, and I'd rather focus on the narrative and the romance. Mini-games just feel like unnecessary extra work. 💦

I really love mini-game modes 😊
I honestly wish every game had them because they're so cute. Games like Diabolik Lovers and Hakuouki made them really fun ✨
