What do you think about faceless MC ?

I think it's good for them to have a face. A faceless MC doesn't fully convey the story. That said, I don't mind if they're faceless as long as they still have a strong personality. Still, having both a face and a personality feels more coherent to me

So what do you think about faceless MC on CG? Do you like , dislike or don't care?
I never liked faceless MC without eyes.
But recently i saw many vn have grey , bald mc and some don't have even eyes, nose, lips .
It ruins the atmosphere for me. Looks scary and fun sometimes.
A romantic moment turns into a comedy. LI hugs and kiss mannequin .
I don't mind that much; I think because I've played a lot of MysMe I've gotten used to it, but I prefer that at least the protagonist has a face. Now, on the other hand, I don't really like protagonists like the one in Sympathy Kiss, where she doesn't have any dialogue. I don't know about others who played this game, but for me at least, it gave the impression that the protagonist wasn't really participating in the story, and sometimes I confused her actions with her internal thoughts, haha. I couldn't even finish the game; I only did Saotome, Minato, Kobase, and Yofi's, and of those four, I only liked Yofi.

I don't mind having a faceless MC since I'm self-inserting myself in most games. Which also means I don't like MC with too many characteristics. (Ơ vƠ)

Most otome (especially non indie ones) with a defined Mc don't really have much POC representations (outside of japanese rep in japanese otome) for the mc so i feel like for self-inserters it's just easier when the MC doesn't have a defined appearance and is nameable because we're not all pale girlies with bangs but i do love myself a good otome with a defined MC most of the time ( ꈍ◡ꈍ)

Personally, I don't like self-inserting and read otome games like romance novels. Also, I'm going to be turned off if I see a faceless MC in the CG lol

Of course! Where are my bald girlies representation???

:whipmaster:

I have to agree with the majority opinion, I don't like the faceless MCs. I don't even know how this got started? Do people really look at a faceless character and think "Yes, representation! I too have no face!"?

I don't mind a faceless MC, but I do get distracted if they look like a gray mannequin.

I don't like them on CGs, it usually looks unnatural and breaks immersion. If you go for faceless MC, you could probably position her in the way her face is not shown on CGs, instead of just leaving it blank like a creepy doll... otherwise I don't mind a blank MC, I don't read stories for them usually

Not really a fan of faceless MCs.I prefer MCs with a face and personality. I feel like the story tends to be more interesting that way, and the interactions with the LIs feel so much more dynamic. I care more about how good the plot is than self-inserting

I prefer protagonists who actually have faces. I like to see them as their own character rather than projecting myself onto them — more like observing from a third-person perspective. And honestly, when they don't have a face, it kinda ruins otherwise pretty CGs… plus it's just a little creepy lol.

no... I love looking at the protagonist face while playing and prefer otome games with sprites.

Not for me cuz personally I dont really do self insert when playing VN. I view them from 3rd POV. I'm the god observing them from above lmao

I dislike faceless MC!!!I think some of the MC's little expressions are really cute.It can
help me immerse myself better

I don't personally like it... Having a faceless MC next to the other characters looks sort of silly to me. I like having an MC with a face and a cute character design!

I personally don't like it because I feel like I gave up making a character full of personality, saying, "Think of this faceless character as you."

I play games while imagining the main character's facial expressions, so if the main character has a face, the expression I imagined is different and I can't enjoy it, so I prefer a faceless main character.Even if the main character is bald, I can enjoy the entire body with my favorite appearance and expression, so it's easier to get absorbed in that type of game. However, if you're enjoying the entire game as if you were reading a story, I do think that having to constantly imagine the main character's face can be stressful for some people.I wish I could choose whichever I preferred.

I need my MCs to have a face :swearveng: That's why I couldn't ever get into some mobile games... Please give a soul to the poor women... Like if SympathyKiss had a real MC and not that self-insert thing the game would be soooooooo much better (and I already liked what I read there, but c'mon! It would be a peak game with a real MC)

I get it why it may be appleaing to some people, but to me personally its such a weird concept! And weridly angled CGs (for the purpose of hiding MC's face) are something else entirely...

Only with a face. Preferably with personality, too. I understand why some people like Y/N, but it's just not my cup of tea. I want to see the story of a relationship between two fully formed individuals.

I prefer when the MCs have a visible face. I'm not really into self-inserting, and I love seeing how beautiful they are I always end up falling in love with the MCs too. So it really bothers me when they don't have a face :( They don't even need to have a window sprite, but in the CGs I definitely want to see their face!
