What’s one thing you wish more otome games would do?

I really wish more otome and bl games would give us longer epilogues or a proper 'after story' showing the couple's daily life. A lot of games build up amazing tension for 20+ hours, only to give you a 5-minute ending scene once they finally get together. I don't wkno, it would be lovely to see more of how their relationship actually works day-to-day after all the drama is resolved, Wich happens normally on fandisc you have to buy later...

Seconding proper after stories!
+ customized looks and first person perspective CGs
More variety in settings for the MC role, such as personality and careers (let us be actually competent at our jobs omg it's a game LET THE BOYS ADMIRE US FOR MORE THAN BEING THE GOODEST GIRL UWU)
Also better attention to detail and worldbuilding... Less plot holes... Please let us see this game is actually planned and not just every scenario writer putting their part together one day before deadline...

I want to see their kids and happiness as a mother female lead with male leads. The interation of how male lead change spoiled daddy at the end would be great. The fact they just end with happy ending as a couple, I feel a bit okay than satisfied.

It could be anything, from better MCs and more meaningful character development to more unique routes, stronger plotlines, or even certain tropes you wish were explored more. What's something you wish you saw more often in otome games?
I wish they could add more mini games that doesn't feel forced.I like interacting with the world. For example I wish toraware no palm had english translation. It has so many interesting game mechanic!

I wish more games made MCs that weren't perfect at everything, like maybe theyre a little socially awkward and dont immediately charm the LIs with their dazzling personality. I love kind MCs but sometimes thats all that they are, kind and pretty.

I want MCs with ambitions and goals, but also deal with their own INTERNAL struggles (so no i am not counting a sad childhood backstory that got thrown in to make us pity her or the 100x repeated flashbacks of a random woman calling Olympia scary). I want perspnal struggles like dealing with loneliness and finding it hard to connect with people, and maybe not having many friends. But at the same time theyre still active and determined characters who move the plot forward, instead of passive FLs who do nothing.. UGH SOMEONE WAKE ME UP WHEN THEY MAKE AN OTOME GAME LIKE THIS TY

I really wish more otome games would cut down on the common route length! Watching through three hours of identical intro text just to finally split off onto a new route gets so boring ಥ⌣ಥ

I wish we get to see more of the aftermath of bad endings. Like it doesn't even have to be in the main game, it could be added to an FD as a side story. (Basically want to see more of the LIs suffering lol)

I prefer having more variety in MCs who play a bigger role in the overall plot instead of just revolving around the LIs. I also love the found family trope between the MC and all the LIs =)) And I especially want a few chapters about their life after the happy ending, so we don't have to read separate fandics.

  • More gameplay!!

I really wish there were more otome titles that went beyond the standard visual novel format, but the few gameplay-heavy ones out there rarely get localised.
E.g. Kin'iro no Corda, Harukanaru Toki no Naka de. Even Konami never officially localised Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side, despite its massive popularity.
I just love having that extra interactivity where you feel like you're actively working toward and accomplishing something.

  • More slow burn romance & more romance in general

I feel like a lot of otome games either rush the romance or get bogged down by the plot. Games like Code: Realize and Hakuoki are long, but they're so plot-heavy that the romantic development often takes a backseat, while shorter/less plot-heavy games like Over RequiemZ still push characters together too fast and it doesn't feel earned.
I want a true slow burn filled with anticipation and intimate moments that give you butterflies, like in a shoujo manga.
