Torrent Power with gigabyte download-

Currently Im download a 5 gig file with bittorrent but, it says 0.5% and estimates 5weeks+ for the download to complete. Is there anything I can do to hasten the download?

it pretty much depends on how many seeds and peers there are

There are 2 seeds out of 7 (3 in swarm) and 24 peers out of 69 (28 in swarm).
....what does swarm mean?

Swarm is the combined about of peers and seeders sharing a torrent. Only 2 seeders is pretty poor, good luck downloading it any faster. I recommend finding a torrent with more seeders.

I'm pretty sure this is obvious, but you could always try asking the original uploader to reseed... He possibly has a fast connection... Possibly...
