I'm looking for The Vision of Escaflowne, the original unedited 26 episode series.

Can you help?

What's the difference between the edited and unedited version?
How can they be easily distinguished?
What are their respective publishing dates?

The original run was in 1996. When The Vision of Escaflowne was released in the west in 2000 by Fox Kids, it was heavily edited and censored for a kids' audience. Afterwards, Bandai released unedited DVD sets in 2002, 2004, 2006.

The 1996, and after 2002 versions are unedited. The Fox Kids run was less than 26 episodes.

Apparently there has also been a remastered version released only in Japan - apart from higher quality it also features some extra scenes. You rather want that or the US release?

Yepp, English Subs, but obviously no Dubs since it's R2 only.
