Hello!! I am an Astarion fan myself and I wonder, do you enjoy rpg games that include romance intended for women? Who are your favourites? What do you think about recent changes in gaming industry since they seem to recognize the female gaze in games.Tell me what you think!

I don't necessarily think that I would qualify the romance in Baldur's Gate - or any of the other franchise/games like Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Fallout, Cyberpunk 2077, etc - as specifically just for women (although the direction is definitely more inclusive, and women are a part of that).

I think the industry is (SLOWLY) coming to an awareness that there are gamers who are male, female, and/or somewhere on the spectrum between - and that offering more understanding and freedom in regards to the gender you can play as and the characters you can romance is something that is going to attract a broader following and potentially generate more sales.

Ooooh, this is totally my topic.

First of all, Mass Effect is my favorite game series of all time. I genuinely couldn't tell you how many Garrus/Shepard fanfics I've read. Huge respect to BioWare — I watched a video on YouTube about how they eventually decided to start making romances for a female audience as well, and it was really interesting. I really miss their old-school RPGs.
Another great example is Persona 3 Portable. The female protagonist was such an amazing addition, and it's a shame we haven't gotten a female version of the protagonist in the games that followed.
As for Baldur's Gate 3 and Divinity: Original Sin2 — I'm really looking forward to Larian's next game. I'm pretty confident they'll keep the romance, companion interactions, and dialogue-heavy parts of the game.

I really enjoy RPGs and play them quite a lot, but I don't usually care much for the romance options. I mainly play them for the action, gameplay, and overall story.

I second Persona 3 Portable and FMC is so cute too! for Reload there's a FMC mod being actively made and I hope to be able to play reload again with full FMC route working!
