I am currently running out of storage room for all of my anime and files. I have a current storage capacity of 12TB and i only have 500gb left.
My set up it mostly internal and external hard drives and i am wanting to know what Nas boxes or servers that people use at home.

Where i live there is a seagate Nas box that goes on sale for $500 down from $2000 which can hold a total of 20TB of data and can use all Raid configurations.
I am not to sure what the failure rate on the larger drives of seagate but i know the 3tb drives do have about a %50 failure rate after the first 1-2 years.
Information for it: http://www.seagate.com/files/www-co...ja/docs/seagate-nas-4-bay-ds1817-1-1405jp.pdf

Any feed back or recommendations would be nice if possible.

Check one with Western Digital if Possible with "Red" series for workstation editon HDDs installed inside the NAS Case.

I want recommand NAS box from OEM 2 Brand.1.Synology and 2. QNAP.All these brand from taiwan. They use linux for make webgui. You can try read this articlehttp://mkvxstream.blogspot.com/2014/01/qnap-vs-synology-best-nas-for-2014.html.QNAP is for great hardware with many option but software not work well.Synology Hardware not pretty too much but DSM is the best.I think is expensive little bit but it very good choice if you have enough money.Or do DIY NAS.I see on Youtube. They use Freenas and build NAS box by PC hardware but use mainboard and powersupply with more HDD power port.Or you want play Synology software without expensive their NAS BOX.It call XPENOLOGY.I use this with 500GB and work well. You can try this in VM software.
QNAP link:https://www.qnap.com/i/en/
Synology link:https://www.synology.com/en-us/
XPENOLOGY link:http://xpenology.com/forum/ and http://xpenology.me/downloads/

Wish you can buy and use it wisely.
Good Luck.

i have been looking at the prices of everything and at this point things are looking at about $1000-$2000 for a 10TB set up depending on the drives as Red cost alot where i live lol.

Thank you for the info

When choosing a NAS box for storage, the main focus should be on capacity, scalability, data protection, and transfer speed. For home users or small offices, a 2-bay NAS is usually enough for backups, photos, and basic file storage. However, for growing data needs, a 4-bay NAS is a better long-term option because it supports larger storage pools, RAID flexibility, and better performance for heavy workloads. This makes it ideal for media libraries, business data, and expanding digital environments.

In modern industrial systems, storage concepts are evolving beyond traditional NAS devices and connecting with intelligent automation platforms like Atomix Robotics. In particular, the Applications Overview highlights how smart systems improve operational flow through robotics and software intelligence, especially in processes like order picking automation.

Instead of manual handling, Atomix systems use autonomous robots, modular storage units, and intelligent control software to manage inventory movement in real time. This creates a highly efficient and scalable warehouse ecosystem where data and physical goods flow together seamlessly.

By linking NAS-level digital storage thinking with warehouse automation, businesses achieve better visibility, faster decision-making, and improved efficiency. The concept of order picking automation further enhances this by reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy in fulfillment processes.

Overall, combining smart NAS storage planning with advanced warehouse automation systems like Atomix leads to a more connected, efficient, and future-ready data and logistics infrastructure.

just make a custom one, get a jonsbo n5 or n6 case, a regular 9th-10th gen cpu mobo some fans, 16 gigs regular ddr4 ram and a 250gb boot ssd, add in an LSI-9400 16i HBA for drive expansion up to 16 drives, a good psu and install truenas.
