I started Over RequiemZ two days ago and I'm already about to start my third route (Noil). I haven't seen a general discussion thread for it yet and I desperately need to hear other people's thoughts/impressions on the game so... :>
As for my thoughts...
Claude: He's my first route and although he didn't catch my eye at first, the scythe, his VA, and overall character turned things around. He truly did not deserve what he went through. Ending R made me cry a lot, like full on sobbing. I understand that Nenohs is truly a child — we reverse his name, a shonen, a young boy who wanted his parents back — but no, a brat is still a brat and he committed all those crimes. He's so close-minded, set in his ways and Claude's words couldn't get through him. On a side note, I didn;t bother to check on the VAs for the LIs so halfway into Claude's Dark route I kept going, "Wow his VA is absolutely insane." "Whoever his VA is, incredibly talented." Finally couldn't take it anymore and checked and...ofc. It's HIM. The goat Makonyan.
Ending ranking: R > M > O > A
Molly: He was actually one of the two LIs I had my eye on before starting the game (the other being Dorothy), so I was really looking forward to his route. Peak Dark route honestly, I felt like I was gonna ascend although the endings for his dark route were sort of disappointing imo. I like to do Dark routes first but for this one, I can't help but think doing Fact route first would have made it more wild when we first see Molly in Mother Rat's clothes. For me, in Dark route, the clothes being the only thing we could see and not Mother Rat's face while Yuhiru is trapped in the basement made me go, "Haha it'd be crazy if that the real Molly" (I WAS JUST KIDDING) and then it clicked even more after clicking the dialogue option of calling out Molly's name and Mother Rat say, "Yes I'll save you etc..." Ending R was a bit predictable but nice, may his soul not attempt to disappear ever again. Also, Osser wanting to hold his son's body even after knowing all that he's done made me tear up. He really loves his son.
