There has been times where I caught a legendary with a standard pokeball. But it was because I didn't have any other pokeballs left.

or steal there pokemon and do a "trade" dont know how that works out. In the game pokemon is more of a livestock while in the show when trading. it's apparently always sad because of this thing call "feelings"

didnt use the master ball on my first run because i didnt know what i was. beat some legendary, caught others with poke/super/hyper ball.
