I dont know about you and how you looked at it.
Common consenseus points to poor character art, music and execution.
BG is still kinda good.
Let alone adapting chapter one, this show may be a turn-off to anyone who didnt read the manga.

To me, medaka isnt getting what it should have been.
Then again, its episode 1. We will have to see.

King doesn't decide anything base on the little information given, I much rather decide when the anime develop more (further on, like to the mid/end of the series) to see whether this is worthy or not. I don't think is fair to judge something by a piece of puzzle when you can look at the whole picture eventually, sometime a small piece can be misleading. So I'm not going to give my opinion so far yet.
