Is there a reason I get distracted while listening to Otome CD?

For me, immersion breaks when the age in the settings differs from the age conveyed by the voice actor's voice.

Same here, but for me, immersion breaks when the male character is actually younger or around the same age as me irl, even though they're supposed to be 年上 (older) according to the title or setting TT

Voiced MC and unnatural SE.

I hate otome drama CDs with a voiced MC, especially when she delivers her lines annoyingly. Though I can endure it if she only voiced in the prologue (like a narrator), if she is voiced in R18 scenes too... welp, I'm out. As for SE, if it's too much, I'll laugh so hard lol

I will lose interest in listening only if I help the female voice actress dub the heroine. Even a few narrations, or less than three lines, or even the shouts and moans of passers-by characters, made me speechless.

All-age works are acceptable. R18CD has a girl dubbing for the male protagonist. I can't listen to it. It's like playing with a girl.

There was one CD where I really loved the story but then the ending revealed that the ML and MC were half siblings and I was just DONE I did get a little suspicious from the hints the story kept dropping but I thought I was just overthinking it so I kept listening
Other than that, the main things I've come across are physical violence and excessive yelling. I can't really handle it when the yelling gets too frequent or too loud

In my case, I find it hard to stay immersed when there's an odd sound effect; I end up wondering how they even recorded it.

I find that I lose focus when the story progression becomes dull or relies on clichéd, repetitive plot developments. I've never been put off by a voice actor's performance, but poor sound quality during the recording process really kills my concentration.

If the sound effects don't match the situation at all, or if the licking sounds are poorly done, it breaks my immersion.

If the microphone quality isn't a bit good, I feel like it breaks my immersion. Sometimes there are works that aren't 3DIO.
