Idol games mega discussion (Es!! Ai7, 18trip)

Hello everyone!

Does anyone here play any mobile idol games or joseimuke games?

Ibe played ensemble stars a long time and recently got into 18trip!
i keep up with the main stories of a3, idolish7, and mahoyaku :3 highly recommend

I spent almost a year playing Enstars, thanks to my friend somehow coaxing me to play it lolololol
I remember I solely wanted to main Madara only, but somehow I also ended up collecting Adonis, Kaoru, Ran and Kuro's cards 😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️

watched idolish7 and loved it! but haven't gotten around to anything relating the game other than la danse macabre (which was excellent tbh). i wanna get into it and mahoyaku properly but i get intimidated bc there's so much content... one day i will for real!! i'm just not the biggest fan of gacha and not a japanese speaker </3 tsushimi bunta seems like such a skilled writer though, i'm totally missing out :sowwy:

oh and a while ago i started reading 18trip's main story while commuting, i like ten and renga so far.. which characters do you guys like?

Haha, I'm playing 18trip right now😁

I really love the story; everyone has their own shining qualities, which is great, so it's hard for me to choose a favorite character. But the character I'm most concerned about is Raito, because I never know when he'll die😢

Hypnosis Mic and Ensemble Stars were great, but since the apps made my Stone Age phone overheat and shut down on its own a few times, I ended up uninstalling both. Now I only play Philgros (and it still overheats my phone, but at least it doesn't crash unexpectedly). But I really liked the background animation in Ensemble Stars, where the characters do a kind of show performance as you play. It was the first time I'd seen a rhythm game like that. Even knowing that playing in that mode only made my phone worse, it was worth draining the battery quickly to finish a few songs XD

I'm into rhythm games as a whole, and have played in the jp enstars server for a while! I started the game after seeing a Wataru card, loved his design and was even more interested upon searching about the game.

I also like Mayoi, which quite a funny choice, since their personalities are like two extremes

Have you tried mumu player for your PC?

Have you tried mumu player for your PC?
I already tried installing MuMu Player on my laptop to play LaDS once, since that game isn't compatible with my phone, but unfortunately it didn't work and made my laptop even slower than it already was. My brothers' PCs would be able to run it, but considering it's already a struggle to convince them to let me use theirs to play games, I bet neither of them would let me install apps to play otome games

Oof.

May need to save for a PC or a new phone :( I'd be lost without my PC.

i used to play a ton of mobile joseimuke!! ichu (rip my biggest heartbreak to date), enstars and idolish7 were my staples for years. but i played a ton of other mobile joseimuke too!!!!!!!

i LOVED ichu.. i think it was my first ever proper mobile game because i installed it first when i got a new phone ww!! i didnt even know anything about gacha back then.. sigh....... i doubt we will ever get a game like it. i miss my cutieful stalker sakkun...... and all the shota characters you could kiss.......... i know theres a switch version, but its not the same;;;; also i think they tried to yaoify the entire project back when the anime was airing, which i hated LOL, so now im side-eyeing every new project from liber

idolish7 hols a very special place in my heart, because i used to be OBSESSED with one of the characters. he was my first proper hasubando, and the character i loved the most in all my life. unfortunately i think my feelings have since faded, but i still remember him fondly and get sad sometimes...... im like a bitter obsessed ex, but the only one im harming is myself........;;
used to play the hell out of it too, but recently its been a little hard.. the gameplay part is.. outdated to say the least^^;; but i still love the story and the characters! OH AND TSUMUGI!!!! my loveliest girl.....!

enstars is..... well. it used to be a hasubando paradise, but then they started removing anzu from the narrative to focus more on yaoibait.. and i didnt like it very much HAHA, though my main problem with enstars is that it kinda doesnt know how to age? if that makes sense? they tried to modernize in the last couple of years, adding new bands and changing the ui, but all these steps just made veterans feel not welcomed anymore haha. also all the retcons and stuff.. not nice! but i still cant help but love my idols. back in the ! era, i was so interested in playing i had accounts on three servers!!!!! haha;
i love their 3d models though. their models and mvs are really freaking good. especially if you compare it to a certain other bigger rhythm game.....^^

i also tried a lot more games! blackstar, mahoyaku, a3, 18trip and many others, but i cant say ive been hooked. i kinda liked mahoyaku's gameplay because i love raising sim games like shinymas/gakumas/umamusume, but i never read any guides so i didnt exactly understand what i was doing.. also the gacha was insanely brutal so i quit. ww
i loved 18trip's gameplay a lot too, but since its not a gameplay-focused game but a story-/character-focused one, which i wasnt interested in, i gave up quickly. and the gacha is brutal there too haha
played a good chunk of a3 as well, but the gameplay was.. a little harsh.... and gacha was even harsher....... but i think all the boys are lovely!! i love my masumi and misumi.... such silly boys:D:D

in general, i find it kinda hard to play games without a fixed (female) mc nowadays. not that im looking for the true otome experience (i can just play otome games for that after all), but its hard being a yumejoshi in such spaces, because most fanart youll inevitably encounter will be yaoi. and i wouldnt say im a fan of yaoi outside of visual novels!!!!! im not a hater, just have some extremely specific preferences

in general i started playing when i was in middle school, and cute anime boys (and girls but this thread is not about them) helped me a lot during that time, because they inspired me to draw and write fanfiction, so i could safely escape my boredom and loneliness..... long live anime ikemen!!!!!

I would say that anzu isn't really removed but now it's just producer.

I hadnt noticed a lot of yaoi bait, sure. There are shippers but there are shippers in every community.

she was a producer before as well! but apparently there are talks about her resigning ww.. also didnt hitsugi kinda took over her a couple of years ago? i saw people talking about him taking her role or something..

wouldve been a landmine topic for me back in 2020 unfortunately nowadays due to how the fanbases are and also my lack of time i havent really been able to prioritize playing joseimuke games at all :(

everyday i mourn the loss of a3! en and it's shutdown TT i do keep up with the jpn server and recent events but i still miss the en version dearly i loved how they'd localized it

i was never too into enstars in terms of it's story mostly the music - i was a valkP and also a mamaP ^^ but comparatively i was a huge fan of helios rising heroes !!! it was a game i supported since launch and i adore it greatly although i feel as if it has never really been too popular :(

similarly to enstars i was into blackstar and technoroid only for the music / gameplay and i never really got into the stories especially since fanbases for both of those games were pretty nonexistent so there was little to no en content at the time </3 (afaik technoroid has eos but if anyone here is into blackstar and knows of any resource for en fans do let me know :D)

i used to be super into mhyk (faust my beloved) but i havent really caught up with any of the recent stories and have been mia from the game for a while - i do want to get back into it though and as well as get into break my case since that is also by coly and has GORGEOUS character designs ^^

... i WILL definitely be getting into 18trip soon there are lots of characters i am eyeing in it because of their cv or design (namely nagi and kuguri) :D

I dont think so, I think it might have been in one plot but its left kind of ambiguous. Again though, I dont self INSERT so MC can be whatever gender the producer is. I think its more inclusive.

I try not to spread myself too thin or care about other peoples enjoyment of the product as long as I enjoy it on my own terms.

ah i totally get it! i dont selfinsert either, in fact i still dont fully understand what that means haha, but i like seeing girls get more love. and its especially great for my selfinserting sisters so i cant help but prefer gamed with femc only.. this is why im really excited for reign of nightfall!!

technoroid
ahhhh i remember this one!!!!! all the boys (or not boys but they were pretty masculine-presenting w) were so cute!! but i dont remember much about the gameplay.. which probably means it wasnt very good.....?
is the project (not the game) dead, or is it developing in some other way, like through cddrama or manga or anything else?

and omg i played the shit out of helios too!!!!!:D:D but i got burnt out because of the automatic autoplay paywall haha.. i love my boy faith though x3 i also liked decorating my dorm lol. i think i lost my account though.. which is a little depressing....;

Self inserting = imaging yourself in the shoes of the MC.
Eg, Cardia is YOU. instead of Cardia being Cardia.

yea thats natural!! and this is exactly why i always found this concept a little difficult because like, most mcs arent mute/faceless and are actually expressing their thoughts and opinions (which is great btw i love well-developed mcs!!!!!) even without choices, so i think it kinda,, not defeats the point, but clashes with it? thats my own issue though w

the gameplay was just candy crush esque from what i remember so no wonder you dont recall it lol i do think they made an anime out of it but i have no other information since i dont ever see people talk about it :( im not even sure if the game was eos or if it just stopped updating or something

ALSO faith fan omg i was a west sector oshi so i loved all four of them sm but i had a very very big bias for keith heheh :D the gacha rates in it were so bad which was what made me really turn off from it too but i do adore those boys so so much !!

KEITH IS SO H*T IM SORRY!!!!! tsudaken is just too strong kfgjfjhjhf i wish he had more roles in otome/joseimuke....;;;!!!!! i also had my eyes on the new boy, bianca? biance? the long-pink-haired one, but at that point i started to slowly lose interest in the game, so i wasnt able to explore him further..;; but i do remember most boys being cute lovely dorks!! if only the gameplay loop wasnt so demanding (and literally paywalled lol).. and gacha too..... but its in character for happyele, so i guess you just gotta learn to cope.....;;
