I ran across this phrase:
笑って足を組み直した。
while I was reading a light novel, but I can't get a clear understanding by what it means to 組み直す one's foot.
does it mean he readjusted his foothold?

Im one of newbies in this site...but If you let me translate it into EN...
With laughing,I readjusted his crossed legs.(left one on right one to right one on left one or vice versa)
I think mostly correct that is.

I think that there is a meaning such as changing the mood, changing the atmosphere of the place, trying to change the topic, etc. If you consider psychologically, you will find many examples.

So why, then, does it feel so unbearably sad?
