How do you feel about LIs who still have feelings for someone else?

I'm not a fan of it at all, but I think it's every time I see this trope it's usually written badly.

In concept, I think exploring this trope would be interesting if only it was written well and handled carefully. But due to the nature of the trope having the MC/player feel like an "outsider" in the LI's eyes, it's so easy to accidentally make the MC feel like a rebound in the end and that leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.

It's and instant "nope, I'm out of here" if LI has such trope in their route. Maybe, just maybe you shouldn't be in a relationship if you still have feelings for someone else?

Also I don't like when MC in those routes has to play LI's individual psychologist and help them to overcome their obsessions, it's wrong on so many levels.

I do not like who can't move on with their crush. Its a bit heavy and emotional baggage to like that LI. I usually skip all the stories to complete the CGs. Its a bothersome to read his emotional and support him, i don't like female lead support LI. This is too much work and turn off. I want LI to support female lead with her choice and decisions. Either way its a bothersome to make him fall in love even though he have feeling for someone else.

One word: Yoosung :cautious:. In Mystic Messenger he talked about Rika ALL the time. And also V (yes, again about Rika).

I hear about that title often but never played it! What was the context? Was Rika an actual character that appears in game or just mentioned as the ex to make you jealous or something?

In the end, if you like the ending, that's enough
I dated someone who looked like my ex, but in the end, I ended up liking them!

I don't think I mind, as long as he gradually moves on and belongs fully to the MC in the end. Everyone has a past, but no one should be trapped or haunted by it. But if he starts mentioning that "someone else" name again and again like a broken record, I will probably snap lmao

Rika founded organization that all LI's are part of. She disappeared later and all LI's were left grieving about her.
She appears later in V's route and whole route is about V's and her relationship (she is V's ex...kinda, because V still cares deeply about her) while MC is basically rendered to a third wheel role, watching their interactions and providing V psychological support.
I think devs wrote Rika in a way to deliberately make players jealous and I don't like them for it. Amount of hatred and misogynistic slurs I saw towards Rika was astonishing.

I'm not a fan of the 'MC reminds the LI of his past love' trope but I would warm up to it a bit if the LI grows from it and realizes his mistake and that the MC is their own person and should not be compared to anyone. Although if it's just the LI pining for someone else after getting rejected while the MC has to romance him (none of that lookalike trope), I actually don't mind it. Even in shoujo mangas I enjoy reading FLs chasing after the ML (sometimes, it can get exhausting and frustrating) because the realization of the ML falling when executed right is soooo good. I guess what I'm saying is I love it if it's 'She falls first, he falls harder'! So that in an otome game would be interesting for me

It's not really my thing. I think most people wouldn't like being with someone who still has feelings for someone else. It would probably make the relationship feel like you're competing with a person who isn't even there, and I'd rather the LI be emotionally available and genuinely focused on the MC.

Oh wow... I don't like that either, at all 😂 why, devs?! We don't always need a competition! They could have used the resources in a better way 🥲 what a waste
