In fact, as long as it's a game, it's open for everyone to play. Classifications are just there to help players choose games that suit their tastes, not for the games to filter the players. It's completely normal for men to play otome games or for women to play galgames. However, I personally boycott those male streamers who use playing otome games as a gimmick to attract fans, but in reality, look down on women and have zero moral standards.

I don't think there's anything wrong with men playing otome games. It doesn't cause any trouble for anyone if a man plays a otome game, after all.

I think it's totally fine ! Even if otome games literally means maiden games it doesn't mean that men are forbidden from playing this genre of games, i personally have a guy friend who plays ALOT of otome games just because they love the characters and the story told to us. And i dont think we should restrict anyone from playing a certain genre just because of their genre/sex i mean, it's like saying that shojo mangas r only for girls…the more ppl get into this genre the more the business behind it will develop themselves and accord more attention and budget to it !!

I don't think it matters whether a guy plays otome games or a girl plays eroge. Everyone has their own preferences, and there's no need to judge people based on their gender. Honestly, I'd be happy if I met a male friend who plays otome games—we could share different perspectives! I think that would be really interesting~
