How did you discover otome games genre?

I remember when I was 7 I clicked the remember me otome game on my sister computer and decide to play with it without knowing what is it and she got mad at me for that also when I was 6 or 7 she been saying about how good is Doppelgänger Dawn of the Inverted Souls she still saying it even now I and I got serious why she like that type of game and played amnesia memories whatever website I got from when I was 11

My first otome game was <<Angelique>>. A friend was playing it, and the female protagonist could become a queen and romance many male characters. The control system wasn't simple, but I found it very refreshing, and the characters were beautiful.

That was my first experience with otome games.

Later, anime and manga were published, and subsequent titles were ported to new platforms, with remakes featuring completely new male and female protagonists and story backgrounds. The controls became simpler, and you could pursue the male protagonist and experience various endings simultaneously.
Aside from nostalgia, I still love it!

I can't remember clearly but I think I was doomscrolling TikTok when Covid time and it's amnesia memories and hakuoki lmao

During the peak of flash games, i discovered Pacthesis' dating sim games and have played all of them (and some western otome sims like Always Remember Me). Years later i discovered eroge and otome visual novels

I can't recall very well but the earliest memory i have is playing a voltage game on my phone when i was a teen. I probably got an ad for it and downloaded it hahaha

I think I've always known about it since I liked anime, but I wasn't aware of what really an otome game is. I only started playing them recently.

I love how we all have varied experiences 😆

I got into otome games when Diabolik lovers and Brothers conflict anime came out. I was absolutely obsessed with a character in Brothers conflict and did everything to get more of him. All of that led me to the novel, drama CDs, and otome game play throughs on youtube (srsly thank you to those jp youtubers who uploaded clips back then). Eventually, I got desperate for more of the character I loved and tried to play the game using a psp emulator. When I actually got it working, I did not understand a thing (it was fully Japanese and had a visiting system). Thus I temporarily gave up and played Hakuoki first since it was the only thing with english localization.

it's flash game, patchesis game!! I play that game with my sister all the time, I even wrote notes about that game.

I was in the middle school, when I found the otome genre. I was reading manga a lot, and was devastated that she would end up with bad boy all the time. When I just searched in internet where I could read more mangas with different endings. And that's how I found the visual novels and otome games. I am so happy, I searched for different things and now Otome games became one of the favourite things in my life

I don't remember how exactly I came to know but I really liked reading shojo manga and watching anime and probably in related searches found out there's otome games and it instantly peaked my interest. I think TMGS or Angelique was my first otome game.

I was already playing other types of games before I found otome games. I randomly saw Hakuoki on Steam one day and since I had watched the anime, I recognized it. My first thought was "Wait… anime have games too?!" I had no idea what an otome game was back then. I played it, loved it, and that's what got me interested in trying more otome games. :nyanmusu_happy:

I first learned about it through an advertisement in a manga magazine I used to read as a child.
I loved romance manga back then, so I remember thinking, "What a fun-looking game!"
