How’s your split between otome games vs. otome CDs (situation CDs)?!

How much do you listen to otome CDs compared to playing otome games?

Personally, I tend to play other game genres more than otome games, so I usually play those instead.

BUT I am absolutely obsessed with otome CDs...!! 💕 Unless something comes up, it's my nightly routine to listen to one before going to bed. It's literally pure healing!

What's your split like? Or do you enjoy both equally? Let me know in the comments! 😆

I've always been a fan of Otome CDs and have a huge digital collection ~♡
I've only recently had the pleasure to invest in Otome games since it was impossible for me to play due to incompatible devices or lack or resources ><! and I only finished two games and I'm on my third now ~

So I'm more of a 80% Otome CDs/Audio 20% games!
I even considered getting a switch for it at some point but I figured that PC games are more affordable & easily accessible for me so I dropped that plan

I used to only listen to otome CDs too, but after joining this community, I've been getting more and more interested in games!

Also I actually wanted to get a Nintendo Switch 2 (mostly for other games though), but the cost is no joke😭

Yes! The price for Switch games is no joke!!!
Personally, I've always been interested in a few games and finally managed to get my hands on them this year ♡
Other than them I'm slowly starting to get into playing more games and trying to understand the otome game scene but I mostly keep to myself and listen to CDs & situation voice ~

I'm so glad you finally got the games you wanted this year💕 Take your time exploring, and I hope you enjoy both the games and CDs!

I play other games more than otome games too. It's just easier to find them with an English option, while otome games rarely get localized (unless there's an unofficial English patch). When I get bored with otome, I just switch to a different genre. For example, after playing Kimi ni Madoi, now I'm playing Unicorn Overlord! lol

As for otome drama CDs... I have way too many of them lol. Luckily, I can hold back now and don't hoard them like I used to. Back then, we didn't have a specific section for drama CDs, so they were requested and shared in the megathread. One time, someone uploaded so many drama CDs in a single Mega link, it was like a feast! lol
:boys_eat:
If I counted them all up, of course, the drama CDs would win by a landslide lol

I think it's roughly 9:1 for Otome : Drama CD. The Drama CD I used to listen for was more the mixed media project ones like DIG-ROCK and Paradox Live. But recently, thanks to this site, co-purchase group, and everyone who shared & reupload them, I've been enjoying the Tokuten Otome Drama CD more now! It was a pure joy aaaaahhh I love them so much especially after you've finished a route and starving for more content of your fav boys (re: Kyoya lol) <3 it was now my personal reward after finishing certain tasks or hitting a study goals teehee

I don't discriminate between otome or BL games; I'm interested in trying out games with a broad appeal.

Currently, I mostly listen to otome drama CDs, including all-ages hypnotic stories and R18 short works. I can finish one in one night, while longer ones take 2-3 days to complete, since Japanese isn't my native language and I need time to understand the content and listen repeatedly.

As long as it helps me relax and relieve stress, I'm also open to fan-made works.

I totally agree, I really wish more otome games had multiple language options!
Also I hope I can build up a huge collection of CDs and binge-listen to them all day too one day!! 💕

That sounds like a great routine!! I play games daily to do my daily quests and listen to CDs almost every day too, so I'm always busy 🤭
But taking time to play games on the weekend and enjoying CDs every night sounds so relaxing!

Listening to the special Drama CD after finishing your fave's route sounds like absolute heaven!!
It's such a great motivation to clear the game! 👍✨

Same here! Since Japanese isn't my first language either, I can't catch 100% of it on the first try so I listen multiple times—but it never gets old! 🤭❤️
