[Uncensor] Honey Village Retail Version 1.2.1.0(8) PC/Android/MacOS - Mosaic Removal

Here is the bad news: it turns out that in the special version 1.2.3.0(5), most of the positions have been reworked. I'm currently halfway through the check (25/48), but about 70% of them have been changed.

So far, I've noticed two types of changes:

  1. penis has been newly added to mosaic.dat, along with changes to its corresponding plist.
  2. penis has been added to futa.dat and its plist. In this case, mosaic.plist is also modified, but usually it's just a minor tweak.
P.S. The inspection is complete. In conclusion, among all the censored parts in the special version 1.2.3.0(5), only 21 positions remain unchanged and can be reused as-is; almost everything else requires modification.

For those where futa.dat and its plist have been separated, they might theoretically still work in a pinch, but I haven't tested them yet... So as of right now, only 21 can be reused without any worries. Of course, we can't rule out the possibility that when the official 1.3.0.0 is released, we might have to rework all 48 of them from scratch.

ang solution guys?

There are three ways to solve this:

  • Method 1: Subscribe to a plan that costs 500 yen ($5 USD) or more per month, which allows you to transfer files by uploading them to the cloud (note that the cloud can only save one file at a time). Also, since the ID is permanently valid, you can unsubscribe after getting your ID. However, once you unsubscribe, you will no longer have access to the official download links.
  • Method 2: Root your phone. This will allow you to locate the save file directory just like you would on a PC.
  • Method 3: Wait for someone to release a cracked offline version. However, cracked versions can easily be flagged as risky apps by your phone, and someone would have to crack the game for every single version update.

I don't think that's going to be "that" much of an issue.
The assets will not look as good as nekonick's work (and it sounds like he's gone. At least I still haven't seen any sign that he actually wants to directly work with us.), but not horrible either.

The main issue is just the transparency.
I do not have the hardware to use recent methods for the reconstruction, and the old ones don't understand transparency.
I can either put in a solid color that will always slightly bleed into the assets and create these ugly edges, or it will likely hallucinate random objects around the asset, which tends to make the cropping even harder/uglier.

Overview:
This mod removes the mosaic censorship of the Retail PC, Android, or Mac versions of Honey Village.
Not all uncensored assets have been leaked, yet. I've so far only been able to get them for the scenes 00, 01,02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 24, 25, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 39, and 41. All other scenes do not use original assets, but instead have been redrawn.
The modified executable "may" trip some anti-virus programs, because the original already does.
One Succubus sex scene looks kinda broken, but that's just how the dev made it and not an issue with this mod.

Would that require me to have the unmodified version to get the signature from it, to then sign the uncensored version? I'm confused.
No, you can get the signature from unmod ver but the point is you can't sign it again if you don't have .jsk file of the dev. So i'm talking about It's belong to which version that you have save file on it, not specialized each version. For example, You're playing in unmod but you sign before -> you can update easily by sign the update ver the exactly signature of the old one. But if you don't sign before playing, you can't update to the next version to save ur progess because the official apk file have completely different kind of signature that only dev can overwrite.

I have a possible solution to the laws that restrict the developer (guilty of being tied to a platform like dlsite, for example): create a new game, without references or links to previous games.

Since the developer is hiding "Awe," despite the existence of external and alternative platforms like Itch.io, Patreon, Steam, and etch.

And considering that the initial works, intended exclusively for the Itch.io platform, were promised, according to the developer, to be free from "defacements of any kind";

- My proposal remains that of a completely new game, intended for the foreign market (and not the "domestic market" like that of a dlsite).

Problem solved.

This doesn't solve anything. If anything, it makes it worse because Western platforms come with a whole different set of headaches. First off, platforms are super sensitive about games like Honey Village (and likely Moonstar as well)—anything with loli content gets flagged instantly (just look at F95). On top of that, credit card companies in the West will straight up block payments for the exact same reason.

Bottom line: it's not as simple as Twohorn or Of the Dead anymore. Thinking the dev can just post the uncensored version on a Western platform is wishful thinking; the platforms and payment processors will likely go full legal-mode and straight up ban the transactions or take the game down.

In fact, I clearly described the creation of a new game, specifically for the foreign market.

The lack of the loli tag isn't a problem if the overall quality with which a game is developed deserves attention and investment from potential future backers.

And so far, it seems the developer has demonstrated that quality.

If you want, anything can be done; it depends on the developer's intentions, after all.Whether to stay in the "comfort zone" or to dare.

Let me just lay it out straight for you: the problem is never on the developer's side, regardless of whether the game contains loli content or not. For example, the developer of the RE:BF spin-off has already found a publisher, so it's only a matter of time before it hits Steam. However, there's still no guarantee it won't be taken down later due to pressure from credit card companies. After all, Steam has previously buckled under pressure from Visa and MasterCard and removed a massive batch of games...

Realistically speaking, the more attractive and popular a game is, the more resistance it attracts, which often forces it to be taken down—look at Stellar Blade or PRAGMATA. As for the promising developer you mentioned, they are just a regular Japanese office worker doing this as a part-time gig. Besides, without a publisher, many Japanese developers wouldn't even bother trying to sell to the West anyway. East Asia has far fewer hurdles, and it's a market where JCB—currently the only 'clean stream' among credit card companies—is widely supported.

For Western devs, the Western market is the ultimate comfort zone. When they screw up, they don't face recalls or major consequences. Most of them have zero accountability for their own games and just take their sweet time fixing bugs. Hell, a ton of these devs have never even touched their own games (just look at a certain 'D' game that's on its 4th entry). Or look at that 'P' game that turned a looter shooter into a straight-up PhD entrance exam. When they drop a massive, game-breaking bug, nobody calls them out, and they just chill until the long weekend ends. Meanwhile, in East Asia, a disaster like that would be 80% hotfixed within 24 hours, guaranteed.

I understand better, thank you.

I'll add to what you've explained that my point of view is the same regarding the Western (American) video game industry. (This important distinction needs to be made.)

And no, it's not a comfort zone, at least not for those who try to dedicate themselves to it with a modicum of seriousness and professionalism, especially indie games or smaller productions (economically speaking).

It is, in that specific case, only due to a prevailing financial and political reality, as well as the manipulation of perception. (In my view.)

In fact, to quote Stellar Blade (and its commercial and financial success), the developers have decided to become publishers themselves. (I really enjoyed the trailer for the second episode released recently, which is likely a nod to "Project DT" in UE5 from a few years ago.)

It's a global problem that affects everyone: the progressive conceptual and creative flattening, in favor of dynamics of possession and accumulation, along with dynamics of time.

This doesn't change the fact that talent, care, and passion are very important values, and they require just as much time.

Lately, it's clear that attention is focusing on the direction a certain way of thinking and acting is taking.

And also recently, the contribution that even a single person, even a simple employee, can make is being reevaluated.

Also because, at least from my humble perspective, human beings are always creators, in their entirety, and wherever they live and experience.

Edit: Genji: Dawn of the Samurai, 2005, Developer: Game Republic, PS2.

An overlooked gem. (in my opinion)
