yess!! i do try when i feel like it or when i know the game isnt very advanced kanji heavy! i usually go on and off when it comes to learning even if i watch a lot of jp vtubers on the daily <//3 sometimes i get the gist of what they're saying but i cant read the kanji...
kanji is pretty complicated so i mostly try to learn w/ an otoge if it's more on the modern genres or in a school setting (like tmgs) because the dialogue is easier to understand & the kanji isnt too foreign for me...except that most of the unlocalized otoges that im interested in have too advanced kanji & are on the fantasy/historical type of setting so i dont really have the patience to focus and learn while playing for them yet > <;; but it's definitely a goal to finish an otoge without a translator/before it gets localized haha
