Hmm i would say that you could watch any of them at any time as they dont really talk about each other... I watched them in chronological order from when they came out~

Most of them are worth watching, though I personally think .hack//SIGN felt the most completely planned from the beginning, while .hack//Roots feels like only there to lead into the G.U. games.

Hmm i was introduced to .hack with the .hack//Legend of Twilight manga~ Its quite very different from the anime except for maybe the first episode and some events... Actually i dont think most of the manga and anime follow each other completely...
