thank you for making this thread bc i wasn't aware the english patch was out and seeing you mention it reminded me to verify that... i gotta play it >< i hope you enjoyed the game!!!
 
Hi, I have played both prequel and sequel (still in the middle of playing DLC) :fullblush: . Highly recommend playing Deitsa; it explains a lot of what is going on in FF.

I had no expectation for this game and played only cause we were reading it together with my group (Japanese practice), but holy shit it is the wild ride! I am still traumatised by one route heavily XDDD

Oh i heard about it too!! Can you give me the full name of the other game :D? Also does it have English patch :D ?
I wanted to know more about also which route traumatised you lol if you don't mind me asking :D i think it is the ? because he shocked me too HAHAHA

Omg the game have their prequel and sequel??? Which name is for that game🫣🫣🫣🫣

It is the prequel to Folie Fatale; the name is Deitsa no Makugire -Chouka no Torikago- https://vndb.org/v33335. Sadly, the game has no English patch (I played in the original), but it is a free one, so you can give it a try (possibly with MTL). I can't believe the prequel is for free; it's absolutely amazing and has so many "wow" moments. Fr, the writing is a few levels above some triple-A otome games....

Secret endings are directly connected to
the prequel. The secret LI is the same LI that was in the prequel; honestly, he does mess up things in all routes, but u get the truth after the route endings in a very chill way
. If you decide to play it, there is a whole other section if you click on the clock in the menu. My friends missed it.


For me, the most messed up route was
the brother route. Like wtf bro, rape her, and then she goes bananas and ends up pregnant? I am bad with brothers routes, but this one was whole another level. Also, the bad ending of the green guy (his crying CG T-T) was very heartbreaking

i might not be able to play the prequel (because of the language barrier, maybe i will try using previous suggestions for translator to see how it goes :D ). But can you spoil a bit of the prequel :D?

I finished it in one sitting! took a little under 10 hrs according to steam! would have taken me twice as long in Japanese but I'd like to replay it in Japanese. ^^; I think I'll play the previous game first though because secret LI was super appealing...

my only complaint would be that it was mostly a bit lacking in doki doki feels/romance department for most of it. Lol. Maybe due to the short length too. I'll get the DLC eventually since I'm curious about their pasts and stuff.

I bought Folie Fatale a long while back on Steam, encouraged eifie to do the fantranslation so I was being as patient as I could to play it. ~

So the highlights of Deitsa are
  • MC is a fallen noble who decides to work in a bar
  • The main mystery is that barmaids are disappearing from the town
  • MC might be targeted next
  • There is a very clever "who is it", first pointing out to one LI, but ending up with another LI
  • Osananajimi LI that turns out to be manipulative from the start when they met
    • He comes from a strict family that made him depressed and slightly suicidal, but once he met young MC he insta fell in love and decided to become perfect male for her (to the point of changing his personality to suit her taste), she is ofc clueless
  • After all routes, u get to unlock the osananajimi post routes extra (the most chilling part), u see him writing letters/diary what he done after each route, kill the other LIs, sabotaged stuff etc; if I am not mistaken you can see this mentioned in the FF

Now the connection with FF:

  • All her flashbacks in FF are tied to Deitsa, the secret hero is the osananajimi LI and MC is the reincarnation of the MC in Deitsa, this is also referenced several times and her ill fortune is tied to that whole ordeal
  • At least one LI of Deitsa makes appearance in FF bad end
  • One of the bad endings of LIs is referencing the bad ending of Deitsa where secret LI ruins the wedding of another LI

I bet there are many more easter eggs I have forgotten, but I am so glad I have played Deitsa before FF. It is not mandatory, but it explains a lot of meta stuff + secret route
 
I highly recommend at least booting the prequel and listening to the main song ^^

If you were intrigued by the secret LI, then the prequel might be interesting to you ^^. What was your fav route?

yeah! I liked him, 100/100 yearning. lolol. I really liked Mashiro (best color scheme and aesthetic LOL) but I felt like his route stuff was a bit more bare compared to some of the other ones. Most interesting actually maybe Haruki because of the 4th wall break stuff. like replaying his route after that and noticing it was really fun. Or him looking past MC in CG
