I don't usually use auto mode for visual novels since I read fast. Though, I probably have to slow down my reading since I probably will forget what I just read...
depends on whether the game will let you customize the speed of auto mode or not. Since I'm a bit of fast reader, most of the time I left the setting off unless my hands are not free :)
honestly i've got long hair and it takes like 40min to dry so i sometimes just set my laptop in front of me and put VNs on auto mode (after adjusting the speed of it to be much much faster lol) and let them play while i use my hair dryer lmao. aside from that i don't use it much personally
I have it turned on when I'm eating, and if the scene felt too uneventful for me. Sometimes I just dock my switch on my tv, have the game on auto while I do other things.
Haha I always use auto play, also with the text appearing instantly, unless I'm playing an untranslated game and need to pause to check kanji I don't know, but usually the second fastest setting is good for me
I don't think I've ever used auto play, I feel like I read pretty fast so I also don't want to wait for it to go to the next line or skip too quickly >_<
I prefer clicking on my own hence auto is rarely used. I feel that if I do not do *anything* I might fall asleep while the game is on auto. The auto speed options do not suit me either. It is more cumbersome to rewind to check what was said
Sometimes, I start getting a little hungry when playing, so I dock my Switch, go grab a snack or something, and then just use Auto Play while I nibble on something. It's really good for the more laid-back scenes, but I am such a fast reader that sometimes it can be hard to find a nice auto play speed xD
Lol like everyone else said pretty much never. too slow/too fast i just like tapping myself especially when there's something I want to screenshot or maybe reread again. It's one of the reason why I can never really watch any playthroughs and always want to buy the games myself to play.
Sometimes! I think whenever I'm in an emotional scene I tend to use auto play. I know people say its too slow but I quite like the slow tension it builds, and I take a while to read sometimes too so it definitely helps
