Do you use the Auto Play function when reading VNs?

It depends. There are some where you can set the speed of text, so those I love using auto-play for. My favourites are where the text appears slightly faster than when they finish speaking, so it seamlessly moves of to the next dialogue as if they're speaking naturally!
 
I recently realized that even if the story is boring, I can still enjoy the game just by listening to the voice acting. So now I use the autoplay feature to make progress while doing other things, and I'm actually having more fun with the game than before.
 
Autoplay is just way too slow.

But when I'm having a snack or eating something, I do occasionally turn autoplay on.

Because it's better than leaving it paused.

It depends on the game for me too! I usually don't use auto mode because I like to read at my own pace—sometimes I want to linger on a line, other times I skim faster. But if I'm replaying a route or just want to relax and watch the story like a little movie, I turn it on. That said, I always end up getting impatient and clicking ahead anyway. So yeah, manual clicking feels more natural to me too, even if my finger gets tired. You're not alone!
 
I mostly read manually, but Auto mode becomes my best friend whenever I'm eating. t's so much easier than trying to press the button every few seconds with one hand while holding chopsticks with the other😂
 
no,i prefer clicking than auto play. sometimes it's too slow and sometimes it's too fast for me.
 
Clicking through a game myself is a lot more satisfying because I can read at my own pace and decide how long I want to interpret or stay on a line. Also, the first few times I've encountered auto-play it was on accident and hated it and when I tried to actively use it myself it was either too slow when lines are short or a little bit too fast when a game has a paragraph to read. I'm a fast reader but sometimes they'll give you 3 seconds for a sentence which is understanable AND for a paragraph.
