Do you use the Auto Play function when reading VNs?

I am a super fast reader, but my gf is not so fast, so she needs auto mode when we are both playing games
 
It feels a little weird whenever I use auto play. sometimes it'll go to fast, and other times it'll go too slow 😭 I'd rather just keep clicking and go my own pace
 
I don't use it! I feel much more connected to the story when I am the one clicking through the text. It helps me stay in the moments and move at a pace that feels natural for the scene. Sometimes Auto Play feels like it is rushing through a character's thoughts before I have fully processed them…
 
ive used it a few times here and there while eating, but other than that its mashing the button for me. auto is just too slow for me
 
i like to get to the next piece of text if im done reading it even if the next voice over isn't finished so i dont find much use in auto
 
I like using this feature when i play R18 games because sometimes characters are taking a long time to finish talking and i could accidentally skip the phrase
 
I don't. I find the auto feature is never fast enough. I read really fast, to the point where I'm smashing the A button/enter the entire time. I wish I had the patience, so I could listen to the voice acting, but alas, I do not.
 
As a fast reader the auto play is too sloww like even after the voice finishes it stays there for a couple more seconds before going to the next one that's why I applaud the auto play players and their patience because i really can't just sit there waiting for it to go next.
 
rarely...it's too slow for my liking and i'd rather go back to the text log if i want to hear a voiceline again anyway..
 
rarely for the same reason already given in this threat, too slow, sometimes im dumb and i sped up the text but it doesnt matter much when its auto
 
barely, I usually try it at my own pace (even if it takes 3x as long somehow) cause it's way more enjoyable for me
 
Yes and no if I doing something like eating or mindless crafting yes if not im spamming the a button
 
no, but i want to while my hands are full like when i'm eating or working...! unfortunately they really can't get the timing right, even the fastest auto play feels too slow lol
 
when I'm doing other things, but most of the time I play manually. I set the speed to the highest and still read faster tho when I do use it.
 
No, I'd rather go at my own pace. It's not even just about slow or fast, but to be able to advance exactly when I want, sometimes rereading a sentence, other times skimming. I've tried Auto a couple of times and it felt weird.
 
I didn't like it at first but I got used to it. Most games I played had a setting for the speed, so it wasn't that hard to find something that worked for me.
 
When playing in English, I love using auto mode since the story unfolds at a steady clip; sometimes when clicking by myself, I get impatient and end up accidentally skipping a line. Now that I'm transitioning in playing in Japanese, though, I go at my own pace since I'm a slow reader again, haha!
