Do you use the Auto Play function when reading VNs?

Rarely. I mostly find the auto function too slow even when set to the fastest speed. I only use it if I'm eating while playing or something similar.

I've never used it, actually. I tend not to listen to the entire voice line anyway.

No. When I'm in automatic mode, I tend to get distracted or fall asleep, so I need to control the reading speed myself.

While reading a novel, I take breaks every minute and get distracted by something, so this function is useless for me.

Not really unless I'm trying to get to the juicy parts of the VN lol then YESSS!!! on the super fast mode so i can skim though it then i take auto off and SLOWLY enjoy my juicy parts.

Very rarely, only when I am eating or doing something with my hands.

nope, i can always just read at my own pace. i just use skip to get past the dialogue i've already seen for completing games.

Nah, that function never helps me. No matter how much I adjust the speed, it's too slow for me.

I only use it during the common route.
If I've already read it before, I'm way too lazy to sit through it again, so I just turn on auto and go do something else while it plays in the background.
Other than that, I never use it. It's always way too slow compared to how fast I actually read, and it just feels frustrating waiting for the text to catch up to me.

I don't think Ive ever seen an auto play run at my natural reading speed aside from Hashihime, which was pretty spot on. It let me get properly cozy underneath my blankets and save my hands from clicking for hours. All others games have been just too slow, I'd love if they increased the top speed to something faster than snail.

Nope, its always either to fast or to slow. Im the type to read, and then stop, and then read, and then decide I want a cup of tea, and so on XD. Im much more suited to picking my own pace (even if its because my attention span is in the dumps). I also sometimes like to just look at the pretty art or funny sprites and would be like "NO WAIT" if the story just sped on ahead while I was admiring a colour contour!

Ive definitely also accidentally pressed auto play and then had to use the log to re read what I missed so I feel like its more often a button of annoyance for me XD.

I prefer to press the 'a' button manually; autoplay is too slow for me. I only consider turning on autoplay when I'm eating.

Never used it. I read faster than the auto play, so it'd be kinda annoying if I had it on lol

I only use it when my hand is hurting too bad to push buttons. I much prefer to go at my own pace, sometimes faster and sometimes slower.

I prefer to tap on my switch screen ° i don't have that much patience

just used it for the first time a little bit ago (pressed it on accident) was surprised to find it somewhat pleasant as it forced me to focus a tiny bit more, but it became uncomfortable over time so i switched back to manual. It can certainly be nice and have its own uses! but i don't know anyone who uses it in a prolonged manner.

I don't really use the auto function and just manually advance it myself. The timing usually doesn't match my reading speed and regardless, I feel pressured to read at a certain speed and it becomes about matching the rhythm instead of actually comprehending what I'm reading. It's like reading a book that turns the page after a certain unspecified amount of time. It just makes it stressful because I feel like I have to read a certain speed to not be left behind if it's too fast, or if it's too slow, then I might get distracted by something else, lose interest or forget what just happened by waiting too long. There are times when I want to reread it or look at the other elements of the game, like the visuals, but I can't afford to do that if the text advances by itself as I would feel too nervous to focus on anything else. Basically, I want to read actively and properly, so I feel like I need to control when I advance and read at my own pace.

I use auto if I can time it to my liking, not too fast and not too slow. Absolutely not if the auto skips the voiced lines before they finish.

If I'm doing something else like work or crafts then I definitely use auto mode. But besides those instances I don't really use it.
