Do you use default settings on VNs?

I also turned down BGM and SE volume and turned up Voices volume bcs I wanted to focus on hearing them speak. Sometimes I also change text speed a little bit (either into slow or fast, depends on whether I feel like reading quickly or taking my time.) And, activate skipping after choices setting is a must for speed running for the other ending

I often adjust the BGM, SE volume and voice volumes. Apart from adjusting the sound settings, I often increase the text speed.

Since the voices can often be hard to hear clearly, I usually lower the BGM and sound effects while increasing the voice volume to make them easier to understand. I also find it easier to read when the text appears quickly, so I set the text speed to either the fastest setting or one step below it.

i don't change the settings much, but always turn on the skip text if i'm feeling like just seeing the cgs first
also, i play windowed version sometimes..

Whenever I start a new game, I usually spend quite a bit of time adjusting the settings.

First is the text speed. I always set it to instant display because I need to search for the game's text hook. If the text appears too slowly, the hooking software sometimes can't catch it properly. Another reason is that the default text speed in many games feels really slow, and usually the translation tool only starts translating after the text fully appears. So it gets pretty annoying when some games still can't display text instantly even at the maximum speed setting.

Second is the skip speed. I always set it to the fastest possible setting. Nobody skips while actually reading the text, people skip because they want to reach the next choice as quickly as possible.

Third is switching to windowed mode. I rarely play in fullscreen because I often need to check walkthroughs, look up information, and do other things while playing.

Fourth is the BGM settings. I usually adjust this after playing for a while. Depending on the game, if the soundtrack is really good but too quiet, I'll increase the volume. But if the BGM isn't very good or doesn't fit the atmosphere, I'll lower it or even mute it completely.

Fifth is character voices. I usually raise the LI voices to the maximum volume while leaving side characters at the default level. And if the game has a voiced protagonist, I normally lower the protagonist's voice to around 25% or mute it entirely.

Sixth is the 'continue voice after advancing text' feature. Since I read pretty fast, it feels strange when the voice suddenly gets cut off every time I move to the next line. So I really like enabling this feature because I can continue reading new lines while still hearing the unfinished voice clip. It's a really nice feature, although not many games include it.

And lastly, the game font. Some games let us choose different fonts, and I usually prefer fonts that are easy to read and have strong contrast with the background.

First thing is to change the text to appear all immediately, and then update the auto speed to be as fast as readable, and turn down a little bit BGM voice if it is too loud

I always up voice volume and text speed and lower BGM.
I don't remember touching other settings.
