Do you prefer playing on a portable device or on PC?

I use my steam deck to play otome games and visual novels ,it's more comfortable for my back to lay in bed than sitting on my chair. I use my pc and ps5 for other video games.

I definitely prefer playing on portable devices like the Switch, even though the screen can feel a bit small sometimes. My workaround is streaming my PC games to my tablet! That way, I still get the portability, and the screen size is just right.

I love to play on a PC, but unfortunately, I mostly play while commuting and outside the home. Even a regular switch is awkward to hold there, so I read on a switch lite

It's not a preference, it's simply the only possible option for me 🥲

I definitely prefer portable devices.
But unfortunately, I play a lot of games that need a translator, so in that case I use my PC.

But if I dont need one, I usually play on portable devices.

i used to prefer playing on PC, but my back and tailbone started begging for mercy lmao 😭 nowadays i definitely prefer playing on a portable device

I used to heavily prefer portable devices for otome games back when the PS Vita was the main platform for otome games. Idk it just made more sense to me that VNs should be portable, like books. I used to take my Vita everywhere with me - on the bus, in class, in bed etc.

Nowadays I pretty much play everything on my PC. I have a Switch but I still just prefer emulating Switch games on my PC too. The Switch and Steamdeck aren't as compact as the PSP/PS Vita/DS, I don't really see myself taking either of those things out on a commute for example.

I prefer handheld gaming devices.
This is because I can play freely in any position I like, without being restricted by location or time.

Absolutely! A portable device, for sure! I even got a controller for my PC to make gaming more comfortable. Unfortunately, there aren't many otome games on PC that support controllers. 😂

I prefer playing while lying down. Sitting for too long gets uncomfortable and boring because I can't change positions, and it's just not nearly as comfortable as lying down. So for me, handhelds are the only way to go!

I can only play on a PC at a desk for a short while because my tailbone starts hurting too. orz

My solution is to connect my PC to the TV with an HDMI cable and then just lie down and play.

Also, I've already survived playing on the ridiculously tiny screen of the PSP Go, so the Switch Lite actually feels pretty big to me.

I don't have a Switch 2 yet, but I feel like it's probably going to be so big that my hands will start hurting just from holding it.

Portable devices, since I feel like they allow me to focus more. So whenever I play a PC release, I stream my game screen to my phone through Steam Link. I also used to have an emulator on my phone just so I could play games at school, though if I'd had a laptop, I'd definitely have used that instead. The added hassle of taking my Switch out and setting up the game makes me much more motivated to play longer than on my PC, since I work on it all the time.

Really depends on my mood. If I want to enjoy the beautiful art on a big screen, definitely pc. Otherwise, a portable device so I can lay down comfortably and play.

I prefer playing on PC. I feel more comfortable. Unfortunately, my eyes get tired more quickly when I read on portable devices. 😔

I prefer playing on PC too whether it's because of the screen size or just the comfort of the display, I find it more enjoyable, and I can use tools to translate games that are currently only available in Japanese, haha.

As much as I like the convenience of playing otome games on portable devices, I much prefer playing on PC! Not only do I get to see the visuals on a bigger screen, but it makes it easier to translate the non localized JP otome games.

I prefer playing on PC. The Switch is nice since I can play while lying in bed, but handsome guys are definitely better appreciated on a big screen!
