I don't mind; in some cases, I actually prefer having no voice acting at all over bad dubbing—(Side-eyeing certain Western games.). But I really do appreciate good voice acting.
Yeah, while I can appreciate voice acting, I enjoyed VNs that aren't voiced at all. The costs of VAs add more to the budget and a lot of indie devs can't really afford VAs, so I'm not really to harsh on them. I would also rather no VA than bad voice acting.
I definitely don't mind no voice acting, I used to play a lot of mobile VNs that generally rarely had any. I agree that a good story can definitely stand on it's own! Personally, the premise, characters and story matter much more to me.
I prefer fully voiced games because the characters' emotions come across more clearly, making them feel more alive and helping me become more emotionally invested in the story.
That said, there are plenty of great games without voice acting. It's a shame when a game isn't fully voiced, but I'd hate to miss out on a wonderful game just because of that. So while fully voiced games are definitely my preference, I'll still play a game without voice acting if it looks interesting.
Voice acting is not an important factor for me. Honestly, sometimes I prefer without va because I finish reading the text way too fast and then I have to wait for the narration to end.
Usually, games without voice acting are indies, and starting by that I don't play them, unless it have a theme that really catch my attention... But in short, I prefer voice acting, because it's my main reason to play otome vns
I play them but not as much and they're usually lower on my priorities list, unless it's a game everyone keeps saying good things about or the game looks really interesting/my type of game. If that's the case, I will check it out and most likely play it.
I just really like voice acting (I guess you could say I've been spoiled by games that have voice acting) because it really brings the characters and story to life. It also helps me be more invested in the story. Voice acting is not a must, but it's definitely a plus to have. There are even times I'm more motivated and excited to play a game because one or more of my fave VAs are voicing a character in it.
I definitely prefer them to be fully voiced but it's not a necessity. I really love hearing strong acting performances so when I play unvoiced ones I do miss that a little. I don't mind partially voiced ones either but fully voiced just makes the world feel more lived in to me. But I've enjoyed countless unvoiced VNs and enjoyed them the same. ^^
