Do you get FOMO easily?

In my case, when it comes to console games that catch my attention, I can usually wait. But when I see posts about other people playing them or talking about the LI that caught my interest, I get fomo lmao I avoid any mention of the plot or how the relationship develops because I want to experience everything blind.

I've been trying to control that feeling because I play at my own pace, especially with non-loc jp titles. By the time I finally get the chance to play them, I end up progressing slowly, and my hype eventually settles down. I still enjoy the experience, but it's never quite the same as when I first got excited about it.

From there, my experience is defined by the game itself. But if I see a lot of reactions from other players, I can't help but develop some expectations.

I do get a lot of fomo, but in the hoarding sense. I don't mind waiting till I play a new title, but I have urge to get it (at least the pirate copy) as fast as I can.

Yes, easily. I try to resist it.
Seeing stuff go poof doesn't help though.

Yeah I tend to get fomo easily too, espescially if the game received a lot of attention on any social media that I follow (discord, reddit, or this forum). The problem is I play very slow, usually it takes me months to finish one full title (I'm the full ending kind of gal) so when I see those fellow otoge players speed-reading through them I feel pretty left out and sad myself

Yes, intense FOMO as a poor, busy college student who is not yet fluent in japanese, the time i have to play otome is so little, i cant really afford many games, and I cant play japanese only titles either :( I end up vicariously living through other otome gamers who post snippets/edits of otome games

if the game is getting a lot of hype or praise around its release then maybe i feel it for a day or two but one look at my backlog makes me relax about it because there's no point in me stressing over a game if it'll take me a month or two to even get around to playing it lol ^^

ig the main thing i feel fomo about is actually the community experience? if lots of people are playing something together it's fun seeing everyone's reaction to the same things or how everyone makes different judgements of the same characters ! and so you end up wanting to be a part of that too ... that kind of experience is more fomo inducing than the actual want to play the game itself ^^;; but it's something you can easily avoid by simply distancing yourself from the community for a while
