windscribe is pretty good for their free plan. I ended up upgrading to the paid only bc there was a $10 a year deal, but the only bad thing i remember with their free plan is they spam you with these annoying 2015-redditor-style emails, so I would use a burner email / an email you don't actually use often to sign up for it

I'd also recommend Browsec VPN. They have a good free plan that doesn't even have a speed limit, if I'm not wrong.

I agree with Mullvad been using it for a good while.
They have a good track record of getting raided by the government and them not finding any evidence/logs from people since they actually don't keep them.
Also it has basically all the possible payment methods available even cash by mail.

I wanted to write exactly what you said here too but thought it might put some people off from using it because it could be read too wordy. Thank you for writing what i should have. I love that Mullvad takes Monero
