Anime start?

So, I haven't watched alot of animes. I read mostly manga... but does anyone have any tips to any good annime in general I can watch?

-Not too long (2-3 seasons or something)
-Mostly comedy, with some plot too of course ^^
-Not too serious.
-Preferrably not fantasy, I enjoy reading that as manga

Any suggestions?

After a so-so start Genshiken is a pretty nice Anime. It won some Awards, too.

There are 2 seasons and 3rd is upcoming

A third season has been announced? That would be great news! I have to second that recommendation, Genshiken is a really fun anime and as an anime fan, anyone who watches it can relate to at least one character.
